Harmison v Johnson
Who would you want bowling if they had to take a wicket in one over to save your life?
Perverted question, I know.....

Could I have the Edgbaston 2005 version of Harmy?

In that case I'll take the Perth 2008 version of Johnson.

Harmi, though at the moment it's a bit like asking "Who would you want batting if they had to make a century in one session, Phil Tufnel or Chris Martin?".

TBH honest, I still think Midge is suffering from the overbowling Ponting gave him SA 2 years back.

He talks a good game, but I wonder if he's got the stomach for a fight.

I'd take Harmi in England. Specifically within 50 miles of Durham. Otherwise, if the delivery had to be bowled, I'd take Midge, mainly because Harmi's homesickness might see the delivery not happen.

Which one are you talking about...?
Re: Harmison v Johnson
Well Harmi used to talk a pretty sh!t game.
"I'll consult the bowling coach to see if it's a good idea for me to take a dump. I'm gonna need his help pulling my pants down, like."

If Bolly or Rhino fire then Midge could have his file mark NTPFAA any time soon. I honestly hope we don't see him stinkin' up the joint again this series. He's really done nothing since SAf 08-09.

Point I made earlier. Ponting bowled him into the ground

Upon reflection on their whole careers?
Johnson.
Harmison was/is a homesick salty flog ... increasingly irrelevant, most likely forgotten within the next 10 years.

Re: Harmison v Johnson
Nobody will ever forget his (Harmi's) opening ball of the 2006-07 Ashes - a wide to 2nd slip.
It was the worst possible start that, in retrospect, summed England's whole 0-5 campaign that Aussie summer.

Re: Harmison v Johnson
Harmi played a big part in the events of 2005 and the lead up to that pinnacle of English cricket, so deserves to be remembered, even if his career tailed off after that. Both could lose their radar for extended periods, but Mitch had more durability, and deserves massive credit for picking himself up off the canvas and producing great things again. And for inspiring a song that will serenade every wayward Aussie bowler until the end of time...lardbucket wrote:Upon reflection on their whole careers?

Just as I posted that Harmison appeared on screen, as part of a tribute montage to Beefy’s commentary...
