Re: Australia v England, 5th Test, Sydney, January 3-7, 2011 (II)
Did any Sky viewers notice Gower taking the piss out of Watson last night?
During the tea break Atherton said that Watson seemed slow in everything he did when discussing the run out with Gower. What he meant was that whether in the field, when bowling or when running between the wickets, TAYNE seems to jog at a leisurely pace and lacks any urgency.
Gower thought he meant that Watson was thick as pig sh*t. Made me laugh.

snicket has had a good series but should retire gracefully
ponting need to bat at 5
Siddle is an average trundler who tries hard
watson is lazy and thoughtless
none are world class
Ponting was a world class batsman...so were ponsford and bradman...the point is he is no longer a world class batsman

Maybe he does have a resurgence of form in him, there's a few batsmen who have recaptured their best at 36 or 37 (Tendulkar the latest of course but we probably should have expected that). Has he still got the appetite for it though, particularly if it's going to have to be in a losing team or under a new captain, that remains to be seen.

Sky have gone all very cheesy, and yet it really is quite marvellous!!!
Backing track of Starship-Nothings gonna stop us now, I wonder what tthe backing track is on Channel 9?!?!
As for my stance on Bell, kind of. They did what Danny and I said and got rid, and all of a sudden he may have grown a small set, although wait and see over a further period especially as he'll go up the order against India.

I've never seen a batsman look more awkward at the crease than Smith.

Oh... Tremlett's injured again. Pretty good career he had anyway.

He's shocking, and batting at 6.
Hilditch has gone even more stark raving bonkers than before!!
Just a boot change for Tremlett. On Tremlett, Surrey reckon they have him right now. Seems he was too bulky (which ways the beach muscles) and kept getting injured. They have completely changed his routines, and its worked.

Its a pity Watson is too slow to heed the same lesson.

Both have a Hampshire connection. We are a vain bunch...
