Re: No Ashes at Headingly in 2013 or 2015
I thought the proposal was that, from now on, all international cricket will take place at Sharjah which has many advantages not least:
1. The conditions are conducive to cricket on an all-year round basis
2. All international sides would be playing under the same conditions, and thus literally "on a level playing field" and results would not be distorted by the vagaries of pitch preparation, climate etc.
3. Controversies and disputes could be readily settled by ICC officials.
4. International cricket would take place in an area of the world noted for its peacefulness and tranquillity.

I was in a student band once, and we had a song called "Bag O' Shite".
Went: "Bag o' shite, bag o'shite, bag-a bag-a bag-a bag-a bag o' shite."
The record companies missed out...

I always thought that was composed by Burt Bag o' Shite.
(very comfortable coat this, despite the wear).
