SRT isn't in JK's class.

So this is a problem England are going to have - 124-3 (28).... Bell striking at 56 and no Morgan to come. Dread.

Same old story. Starts, then getting out. Run rate under five...... I don't think our bowling is good enough to be defending 240 every time on the Sub Continent.

216/5 off 43
Now this is where you need hitters we don't have. Amazing how the loss of one player makes the line up out of shape really.
So we resort to sending in Mike Yardy at 7 again. Clueless...

The geniuses of CSA haven't picked a hitter either.

Re: World Cup Warm up games.
273 a/o in the 50th, not too bad in the last 7 overs.
Wonder if this'll be the starting XI?
Strauss
KP
Trott
Bell
Collingwood
Bopara
Prior
Bresnan
Yardy
Broad
Anderson
Although they can still bowl today.... Look Right, Tredwell FFS & Shazhad didn't bat

Forgot all about him! partner just had a baby so I guess he'll arrive shortly.
Swap Yardy for Swann in that line up

I'd like to see Shahzad in there somewhere. More of a wicket taking option than Bresnan. And Bresnan isn't even economical in ODI cricket anyway.

Or you know, they could drop Jimmy and play both Shehzad AND Bresnan. Jimmy has been very hittable in ODIs of late.

We missed him in the ODIs, for sure. Still not quite the finished article at test level, though. Needs more patience.

Re: World Cup Warm up games.
Colly could do a decent job on sub-c wickets, certainly better than Yardys non-threatening darts.
I'd play one spinner and Colly as 5th no matter what form he's in.

Far from it, but there's a lot more sense to that line-up than we saw in Oz. I wouldn't play 2 spinners unless it looked like a bunsen.
Jimmy, Broad, Bres, Swann, Collingwood for me.

Never in doubt. Not worth anyone else even turning up.
Re: World Cup Warm up games.
We still need more from our batsmen. A few guys making hundreds would be nice. When did KP last make one? 2008?

Off the top of my head (and a bit of a guess), I reckon the only batsmen who've scored ODI hundreds for England in the last 18 months are Strauss (who isn't in much form), Morgan (who isn't there) and Kieswetter (ditto).
