Re: World Cup Warm up games.
You were lulled into a false sense of security by that 6-1. I did chortle at Johnson coming out and saying Aus were the team to beat on the back of that especially as in all but the last game England spunked away opportunities to turn the screw in every game.

I am feeling very confidence Aus will crash in the QF, such is their ordinariness.

Ryan Ten Dustcarts looks like getting the Clogs home v Kenyans. 92* and the Dutch need 10 runs in 3 overs.

The middle order collapse is now so common I have run out of words and energy to complain about how sh!t we are.

This time I don't think they will. Most teams are too shite. They have to be rank bad to choke on this one. A certain condition will not last forever and this is the event where they have their best chance to make that change.

On the other hand maybe this attitude and humiliation is what Aus needs to fire themselves up. If they can't raise their game from here and show determination than well......
I still think Aus is fooling everyone and will drop themselves hard like a ton of bricks on their opposition in actual matches.
BTW, are this matches going to count in record books. They may be warm up games but are they going to count as actual one day matches in records?

Re: World Cup Warm up games.
I agree batman, Aus are a different proposition when it comes to competitions - they're the Germans of cricket. Anyone writing them off would be silly IMO. There isn't really a team out there that's clearly better than any of the others, even from a sh!tty England perspective, I don't fear any of them. It's the most open WC probably since '99. So, it's a bit of an 'on their day' tournament. That being the case, Aus must be in with a decent shout, as are four or five more teams.
Re: World Cup Warm up games.
SL looking very strong
SL, AUS, SA and IND seem like the top 4 teams.

just LOLing other teams into a false sense of security... But it wouldn't surprise me to see us lose to a spin heavy Zimbabwe lineup.

Re: World Cup Warm up games.
Our crap bowlers did'nt take a single wicket. Two retired out & a run-out.
No doubt only the NSP will be suprised at this. They should send the whole team home now to save further embarrasment.

Re: World Cup Warm up games.
You'll still probably win it. The chances are the co-hosts and the Yarps will crumble under the pressure, and the rest are just not very good anyway.

Except for Sri Lanka, beamer. They're favourites, imo.

Yeah, if I had to pick a winner it would be them or Australia, there's still a lot of pressure with co-hosting and Chuck's farewell though, so it's a question of whether that gets to them.

Re: World Cup Warm up games.
Surprised South Africa didn't succumb to the mesmerising leg-spin of Steve Smith.
Those fiendish half-trackers and full-bungers had England's batsmen in all kinds of bother...

Re: World Cup Warm up games.
So another rubbish performance from Aus, and featuring the obligatory Paris-less middle order collapse (5-48). Carn the Lankans.
