Re: World Cup 2011
3 matches, econ of 8.22, average of 163, strike rate 119, best bowling 1-91 this world cup.
And he's supposedly leading the attack.

Luke Wright would like a word with you.Brass Monkey wrote:Henry wrote:Get Bopara in there FFS. He's got a power game when it's needed, has a good head on his shoulders in the latter overs, bowls handy medium pace, and is a good fielder. I don't see what the problem is with him. 10 overs of Collingwood and Bopara will match 10 overs from Yardy almost every time, as well. And Yardy's batting is negligible unless we're 70-6, when he'll come in and make a meaningless 40 off 70 balls.
In summary- f*ck Michael Yardy off out of there.
Very true. I cannot see his worth, on or off the subcontinent. He's the most Sussexy passenger we've had.

He's certainly leading the attack for the batting team in their powerplays.
"We'll take our powerplay and a bit of Anderson, thanks"

We got Anderson a ball with his first wicket. Excellent job by us I say.

Re: World Cup 2011
Yardy is Sam Patel's fault.
England would've picked the chunky little f*cker if he'd even once traded in a day on the carbs for a day at the gym. Even a day spent sitting in the cafeteria of the gym mainlining lard.
He couldn't even be bothered to bristle at the accusation that he was lazy.
What a bastard.

And I was just about to say "I wonder what growls has to say about Anderson right now?".
Damnit!

Soaring world food prices are probably Samit Patel's fault as well.

Oh bollocks, here I am forumming and I've missed one of life's rare sights.
I'll add it to the list. Haley's Comet - missed. That total eclipse thing a few years back - slept through it. Jimmy Anderson taking an ODI wicket - was posting some drivel about Sam Patel.

Samit Patel probably missed it as well. Lying on his back on the couch. Can't see anything with his stomach in the way.

Horrendous review there, I can't believe they went for it, live it looked like it pitched about a foot outside the line.

Paul Sterling is a good little player. I've heard England are interested but so far he remains committed to Ireland.

Well height wise he's quite small. Stocky. David Boon type.

Although looking at him play and waddle around, he reminds me a bit of Robert Key.

Re: World Cup 2011
As for the earlier discussion about team selection - aye, got to agree.
Made the point before the tournament we have a lack of hitters in the middle order now that Morgan is injured. Interesting news that Hussey can replace Bollinger but not his own replacement.
Given that Morgan is apparently recovered or close to it then it would be rather nice if someone traps James Tredwells fingers in a door should we get through to the latter stages of the tournament.

Didnt I hear somewhere that once a player who was originally in the squad is ruled out injured, he can't then come back in?

Re: World Cup 2011
Ed Joyce: 32 off 61 balls - typifies him as an England player really.
[FB England fans] No, he was OK, he once scored a slow ton in Australia.[/FB England fans]
Yes, yes, sorry, I didn't mean it.
