Re: World Cup 2011
Good to see Broad back. With him and Anderson we have two bowlers who are both capable of centuries.

Nope, was agreeing with you regarding Joyce.Brass Monkey wrote:^ is that for Swanny, who may soon be called "minnow-basher"?

Vaughan, Bell, Joyce, Strauss I - christ, talk about a collection of utter crabs - was destined to fail so incredibly miserably. Wankers. I'm sure I've left some out as well.
Re: World Cup 2011
Collingwood, Prior (in ODIs for some reason), Bell. Essentially all of our batsmen bar KP, and even he isn't firing on all cylinders.
Strauss has been awesome in ODIs recently though to be fair.

Damnit!
I'm in agreement with everyone else vilks ....... he's bowled some real tripe, and would have no cause to complain if he were dropped. That said, 1-12 from 5 so far today is good if it continues. He's been a bit off in the field too - but he's not alone in that.
Fook - as I type, he concedes 9 - but that's still fair when O'Brien's taken Yardy FFs for 16 and fat Bres for 13 ......

Re: World Cup 2011
It's quite funny seeing Anderson chirping at O'Brien whilst being hit all around the park. If O'Brien stays until the end England are going to lose this.

Re: World Cup 2011
Either way, moral victory to Ireland.
We're positively shocking - our bowling's basically been going at 6's, at the least, throughout the whole tournament and that includes the fact we've played two minnows. It's nothing short of an abomination.

Re: World Cup 2011
Lets be honest though - when a batter's giong the way O'Brien is, no bowler on earth will "get him out". They may be credited with the wicket, but the batsman will either drag the ball onto stumps or mistime a hook or drive.

O'Brien could get the 5th fastest ODI hundred of all time if he gets there within 8 balls.

The masochist in me is quite enjoying this, it was all a bit boring when we were coasting to victory.

Re: World Cup 2011
Ireland require another 99 runs with 5 wickets and 14.0 overs remaining
Just got back after an hour. What the f*ck?

Not going to get 3rd fastest ODI century, I think he wants his century now. Should easily get the fastest world cup century though.

Re: World Cup 2011
In quite a few regards, I hope we lose, we've been sloppy in the field throughout the tournament and it would be just desserts. F*ck 'em.
Re: World Cup 2011
O'Brien can still get the joint 5th fastest ODI hundred, needs to get there in his next 2 balls.

Re: World Cup 2011
Yeah I'm in two minds, there's no way we are going to beat anyone in the quarter finals and I would rather go out in the group stages than get butt raped by Australia.Brass Monkey wrote:In quite a few regards, I hope we lose, we've been sloppy in the field throughout the tournament and it would be just desserts. Re: World Cup 2011
I would say Strauss should get someone on to take a wicket rather than going with part-timers but none of our pace bowlers look likely to get anything.
This is actually quite funny, I'm enjoying it in a really perverse sort of way.
