Rugby Leeeeeg 2011
Benny the Messiah is not resting on his laurels. Several excellent signings showing good early season form, and the Gaz has beefed up with an extra 10 kgs of muscle. Him and Cooper should be awesome centre combo this year.
The Drags snotted the Bunnies 32-10 in the Charity Shield last weekend, and dispatched the Doggies 28-14 overnight.
Should be a goodish game v Wigan in the upcoming World Club Challenge.

Drags look like signing winger Jason Nightingale (how Darius Boyd got MoM in the GF over Jason, I'll never know) to a "lifetime" 4 year deal extension to his current contract. Excellent news.
And it trial news, the woeful Eels of the week before snot the Tiges, Bunnies get smashed by the Titans (LOL@Crowe), Nags smack the Cows, and Penrith just outmuscle the Knights.

Should be an absolute belter skulls. After letting St Helens steal a draw last week, we've just given Bradford a rogering this afternoon. Amos Roberts back from injury and back in try-scoring form.
Hopefully he (along with Finch, Lima & Hoffman, who've joined us from the Storm) will give the coach / squad some insight into your danger men, and how best to play them.

Re: Rugby Leeeeeg 2011
Oh dear, all's not well at the Broncs. They've just sacked Henjak.
"The Brisbane Broncos have reportedly sacked coach Ivan Henjak on the eve of the 2011 NRL season.
The NRL heavyweights are expected to confirm the decision at a press conference at 5.00pm AEST with Henjak's assistant Anthony Griffin tipped to be installed as the interim coach.
The Broncos failed to make the finals in 2010, the first time since 1991, while Henjak's apparent strained relationship with his players has been widely reported.
Henjak still had two seasons left to run on his contract.
The Broncos' NRL campaign is set to kick off against the Cowboys in three weeks.
A News Limited report claims Henjak was given three months pay on the condition of strict confidentiality over the issues surrounding his departure.
His sacking opens to door for coaching legend Wayne Bennett to leave the Dragons and possibly return to the Broncos, a club he has won six premierships with, next season."

Other than being a sh!t coach and being hated by his players, I wonder what he did?

If it was only 3 month's pay it must have been something serious. Maybe he went on a bender with his nephew.
Bye bye to the Broncs' chances this year although maybe Locky could be captain/assistant coach for the year?

Good game so far - can see why St G are your champions.
Wigan a point up at H/T, but anyones game .... down to who makes the least errors I think.

Is there anything Benny can't do? And he wasn't even there - had to fly home to his sick Ma-in-law.

That's 4 games in a row now against quality opposition that the Dragons haven't conceded a point in the second half.

They're a class act for sure. Very few teams have ever done that to Wigan, and it wouldn't surprise me (on this game) to see the same teams in this fixture next year.
Cracking game, played in a good spirit .... hard but generally fair.

John Elias arrested for the RL spot fixing scandal.
This is a most unsurprising development.

Must be farquen annoying that you can get arrested for organising the first score to be a penalty goal even though they took the tap and scored a try ...shades of Hershey

And Sam AyoubJGK wrote:John Elias arrested for the RL spot fixing scandal.
This is a most unsurprising development.
"Leading rugby league player-manager Sam Ayoub, 49, has been charged in connection with the police investigation into suspicious betting activity on a game last August.
Former rugby league player John Elias, 48, was arrested by detectives from the Casino and Racing Investigation Unit about 9.45am at a home in Punchbowl before being taken to Bankstown police station and later charged, like Ayoub, with attempting to defraud a number of betting agencies."

Equally unsurprising.

PMSL at all the bleating coming from the Penisular about Gallop's light treatment of Todd Carney and Benji Marshall, after Brett Stewart was binned for 4 weeks 2 years ago after making a drunken arse of himself. Sucked in the Silvertails.

Re: Rugby Leeeeeg 2011
Gallop should give up on having a "Face of League" at season launches and maybe just stick with some hot no-name chicks dancing a lot.
Probably have the feminazis down on him then I spose.
Why does the poor bastard keep taking this year after year. Surely he's pretty well off.
