Actually Langer did carry on (they'd just beaten STG FFS give them a break) but the infamous memo was a Bennet beat-up to gee-up the gee-gees.
That's either onamatopoia or allitersation or something to with valium and booze.

Gallup is in huge trouble in melbourne..
The clot presented the Giltinan Shield at the Stormies finals match on the weekend...It was the first time he had turned up in melbourne this year since the salary cap fracas of last year.
He got a resounding reception from the locals...of the booing variety...
on radio yesterday he likened the stormy fans passion to that of terrorists, saying it was unacceptable...I think it will be a long time before he visits again
I think the moron expected to be cheered by the locals.

Why don't Melbourne fans understand that their club cheated? Their club systematically rorted the system. They have no one to blame but the Melbourne administrators and the greedy Melbourne players. The only thing the NRL did wrong was not catch them sooner.

And you'd have to wonder at the penalty. Grand Final favourites a year after supposedly being gutted by the sanctions? Bellamy's not that good a coach.

I think the Melbourne attitude is that they couldn't have been the only team rorting the salary cap but they are the only team caught and punished ...

"punished" by removal of premierships
a fan really couldnt give a garq about monetary penalties to a club or even (in the AFL) removal of draft picks because that doesnt effect their enjoyment of what has happened ...but removing a premiership (even if badly tainted) is punishing the fan
The fan loves the club ...so the hate is directed at the enforcer of the penalty rather than the club who broke the rules

and the bronkettes et al...all the leeegie fathead had to say was that he recognised the difficult year the club, players and fans had endured and that he admired their resilience...easy...demetriou would have handled it far mor wisely...instead the fathead likened the fans to terrorists

I'd like to know why he was presenting the thing in the first place. Surely it's more a Chairman's job. Not the guy who's employed to keep an eye on the balance sheet.

West Coast get the same chip when you say they should be stripped of the 06 premiership because of drugs

They might have a point. "Coke" and "ice" aren't exactly performance enhancing.

I just would've gone the Jim Richards route. Let's face it the poor guy must dread the start of every season.

it wasn't ...I heard it ...the only regret was that he was in trouble...pretty amazing the CEO of a 'national' comp has taken all season to visit

Fans don't score tries, kick goals or win premierships. The players do that. But you'd be hard-pressed to find a fan not joining in with the celebrations when said tries, goals or premierships are achieved.
The thing about being a part of the club is that you are largely at the mercy of others. If they do well you do well. If they fail you fail. The Melbourne club failed spectacularly by cheating - Storm fans need to suck it up.
I'm a Parramatta fan who has seen the club build up two great teams over the past decade only to see the playing roster ripped apart quickly because of the salary cap. I'm a Parramatta fan who saw my team knocked out of the comp in 2006, 2007 and 2009 (in the Grand Final no less) by a club that was rorting the cap.
I've been punished well and good for following my team - Melbourne fans can wallow a little too.

Do you blame your club for not being good enough (or choking) when it mattered or is it just easier to blame Melbourne's cheating?

I blame my club for not being good enough AND I blame the Storm for cheating.
It's not an either/or proposition.
