It's all very sub-standard - a bit like watching Direby.

Sammy did well and has silenced his doubters, including me, temporarily at least. But the biggest transformation for me has to be Ravi Rampaul, who has upped his pace by a good 5mph. He is now bowling like we all thought he would when he was in the low to mid 80 mph range at just 15 years old.

Say what?
The pitch was terrible and therefore made it very hard for even the class players like Chanderpaul, Sarwan and Misbah. No batsman would have looked good on that wicket.
There was certainly nothing direby like about our bowling today. It was accurate wicket to wicket bowling with each way movement, with probing leg spin at the other end.

Well done to the Windies. Good to see them winning at Test level again. So Ravi and Sammy were the heroes and not Bishoo?
And poor old Ajmal. 11 wickets in a losing effort. Serves him right for being a pinger.

Ho Lee Fook!! Just had a closer look at the full scoreboard. A world record 20 lbws in the match. Certainly WAS an up-and-down wicket.

Amazing stuff from the WI bowlers Wiffy, Sammy bowled at an excellent line.WIFAN wrote:Sammy did well and has silenced his doubters, including me, temporarily at least. It's a very disappointing loss for Pakistan because our cricket was improving before this defeat.

Well done to the umpires as well - 20 LBWs in a mach is a Test and First Class record.

Dunno, but wouldn't have mattered cos Ashocka was the 3rd Umpire. Saw him give Chanders not out on a run out when the wicket was clearly broken and his bat was not past the line.

The pitch was sh!t and the bowling was good... I expect you think England would've done a great deal better? ... keep telling yourself that. Made for compelling viewing, thanks to the curator for not conforming to world 'standard'

Well, we're almost the best at bullying flat tracks (hello India). But that's as far as it goes for the time being. I'll be lauding them when the beat India.
Re: WI v Pak Test series in Caribbean, May 2011
2nd Test starts in a few hours. Can the Windies do enough to win the series?
