Re: Australian Domestic Cricket 2011/12
Tassie has released its full list for next season:
PKF Tasmanian Tigers 2011-12
George Bailey (Captain), Jackson Bird (NEW), Luke Butterworth, Steven Cazzulino, Mark Cosgrove, Ed Cowan, Xavier Doherty (CA), Alex Doolan, Brendan Drew, Evan Gulbis (NEW), Ben Hilfenhaus (CA), Matt Johnston (NEW), Jason Krejza (CA), Nick Kruger, James Faulkner, Adam Maher, Tim Paine (CA), Ricky Ponting (CA), Tom Triffitt
Gulbis is the latest signing from Victoria. Unfortunately, they have had to release Matt Day, Rhett Lockyear & Brady Jones from contract to keep under the salary cap. A real shame as these boys are bloody good cricketers.

Fleas playing for the Scorchers? I can imagine his thoughts when Hildick dropped him from the contract list. "Qunts. I even moved to Spivtown to get my paper bag and this is the thanks I get."

Fantastic young keeper. I suppose the production line (Clingeleffer, Wade, Paine, and Triffitt) has something to do with Coyle being coach.
We won't be able to hang onto Triffitt for long if Paine is not fully occupied playing for Australia.
Lucky lad has already played in a winning Shield Final side of course, in case you didn't know.

Cricket gets makeover in bid to attract more fans
Clare Kermond
July 1, 2011
CRICKET Australia will soon reveal a new image for its Twenty20 competition, opting for an urban, anti-establishment look to try to capture the youth market.
After this week revealing its sponsorship deal with KFC for the T20 Big Bash competition later this year, Cricket Australia will soon go public with the new look, saying it will be unlike anything cricket fans have ever seen.
FutureBrand, who developed the branding with Cricket Australia, said the new look was a lot bolder than cricket had been in the past, capturing the idea of ''raw, urban rivalry''.
Sally Anderson, FutureBrand's design director, said the brand represented a new generation of cricketing and was aimed at a much younger audience, challenging cricket's normally more formal, traditional image.
''This was an opportunity where we could take a much bolder direction. The richness of the identity came from being anti-establishment. It was also moving away from being state-based into city-based, essentially we could localise some of that passion that the fans have for the teams, whether it was Sydney v Melbourne,'' she said.
At the core of the new T20 identity is a strongly youthful, urban look, highlighting ''the gladiatorial spectacle'' of the predominantly night-based, city-team Big Bash League competition.
Ms Anderson said FutureBrand had aimed to contemporise and even subvert traditional cricket branding by using colours and details evoking street art.
As well as the core branding for the premier Big Bash League and T20 Internationals, FutureBrand has also developed new branding for the development, youth, social and women's games.
Mike McKenna, general manager for marketing services at Cricket Australia said the team logos and uniforms would be unlike anything Australian cricket fans had seen: ''They're bright, bold and a departure from tradition.''
Mr McKenna said fans would get their first glimpse at the new look when the KFC T20 Big Bash League was launched on July 27.
The season begins in December.

I heard an interview with Shippy yesterday where he was asking the Vomits to support his team (rather than the other Vomit team) ...all he could do to promote it was say they play at the MCG

Perth confirms it's reputation as a retirement home for Poms and Jaapies by adding Collingwood to Gibbs as the overseas signings of the Scorchers
On the bright side ...we didnt re-sign Saj Mahmood
Birt going back to Tozzie for T20 ...taking Hogan with him
Achilles playing for one of the Melbourne teams
Cameron , Rimmington and Ronchi also to play for the Scorchers
