Just noticed Phil Jaques is playing his first FC game since March. Hope he does OK; not that he'll ever play Tests again ... but he's not been lucky these last couple of years.

Reeks has been our best player this year. I guess he must be injured.

During the Ryobi Cup game on Wednesday, there was some discussion on who could be the allrounder to replace Watson in the test team. Someone sent in the suggestion of James Faulkner. MEW said Faulkner wasn't a good enough batsman but Henriques would be a good chance. BJ chipped in suggesting Mitch Marsh.

At this rate it doesn't look as though the Aus A mob are going to get to bowl again in this match ...

Lol at the Spivs self promotion. Faulkner is a genuine all rounder while Henriques is an average batsman who bowls a bit.

a comparison of all-rounder career stats at this point of their careers would be interesting: Henriques, Butterworth, Faulkner, Smith, Hopes, Cutting, Swan
Is Swan fit?

I don't know either - cricinfo seldom gets it right - but it sounds like he must be quite clever in the flight.

According to Doherty, he bowls in the high 130's

Blue skies appearing in Spivtown. Got 1½ inches overnight here on the upper North Shore, so I imagine Randwick would've at least equalled that, so the outfield at the SCG will be damp. But I reckon they should get on sometime today.

Someone called Van Der Gugten has managed to take a wicket with his first ball in FC cricket.
