The biggest shame is that the insipid inept failure of the Vulture has set the Woman's movement back 20 years

It's the kind of bloke I am.
What we really needed was a strong woman to be our first femme PM (excluding Keating)
Much like Bronny

Re: Aus Federal Politics thread (II)
Fark me, these Independents need a bullet like the Greens. That qunt Wilkie was on the Nooz tonight puffing his chest out saying he was prepared to bring down the Govt if they didn't stick with the deal they made with him over pokies. What a twat.
As much as that would be farkin hilarious (yes, yes, I know, he can't "bring down" the Govt but he can certainly make the Vulture's life even more miserable than it currently is) it is just plain wrong that these normally impotent oxygen thieves wield so much power.

There's a place for independents. Even in parliament.
I've had dealings with three of the current crop.
Katter really seems to be as mad in person as he seems in the media.
Windsor seems to be a genuine, honest man, who really cares, and tries to be as straight as he can.
Oakeshott seems well out of his depth, but loves the attention.
I haven't had any dealings with Wilkie yet, but he seems to be a despicable turd, elected on a 'bitterness' ticket, with very little substance. He's worse than the Mad Monk in so many ways, particularly regarding his perception of his own importance. His mirroring of that dickweed Xenophon (who was elected on a single issue FFS) by putting pokies at the top of the list verges on insanity.

Cheers Z. Interesting perspective from someone who has had direct dealings with these farkers. Tony Windsor has always come across as the most genuine of human beings.

You don't want me to start on Gillard and Abbott.
Although the last line of your post 3 up from this contains an apt two-word description.

I have to agree regarding Wilkie. He actually came in third in primary votes behind the Lib/Labs but got elected on Green (and some Lib) preferences. Labor deserved to lose the seat though. Duncan Kerr held it for 20 years & did absolutely fark all the whole time he was there. It always amazed me with the ease that he kept getting re-elected. I guess people's patience just ran out.
Re: Aus Federal Politics thread (II)
This could apply to so many pollies...
The US gets a lot of things wrong, but their limiting of the Prez to 2 terms is something that could perhaps be applied more widely. It might stop pollies becoming fat and comfortable on the public purse.held it for 20 years & did absolutely fark all the whole time he was there. WTF is Anthony Albanese smoking? I think even vilks would love some.
On the nooz tonight, in reaction to Abbott's suggestion of a plebicite on the introduction of a carbon tax (yes, yes, a stunt, I know) Albanese came out blustering that "we absolutely have a mandate to introduce a carbon tax."
Wait....what?

In that infamous sky news interview where Abbott talks of the virtues of a carbon tax, he also admits the ALP have a mandate to do something on climate change.

Speaking of butts, on QandA tonight they had Josh Thomas (I think that was his name) who is a gay comedian. When they were talking about gay marriage, he made a joke along the lines of "I am sick of buying presents for everyone and notting getting any back . If you're gay, you are a giver"
