The Football Thread - 2011/12
Effectively 6 weeks to the start of the season (August 13th) it's probably time to start a new thread looking forward.
I like the insight in the headline of this article

Not a good start to the thread for well-tanned Portuguese people.

F*ck Nani. Cobblers have signed Nana. And Turnbull. WGAF, I hear you say? Not many. Not like I GAF about your sh!t, either though you mealy-mouthed little f*ck-bucketed butter-c*cks. F*ck you.

I guess she will have to take those big black-framed glasses off before she tries to head the ball.

Man City sign their third expensive left back in three years. Clichy begins the Arsenal exodus.
Re: The Football Thread - 2011/12
Peter Ridsdale now owns Plymouth Argyle - that's them royally screwed then.

Tevez confirms he's leaving City. Whatever they spend, it will be tough to replace him, they wouldn't be in the Champions League without him. Their remaining cast of a thousand strikers won't keep them in the top four next season, so expect at least one massive signing...

Re: The Football Thread - 2011/12
Balotelli showed signs that he was going to be a player for them, towards the end of the season. Dzeko surely can't be as much of a donkey as he's looked so far, based upon his career scoring record. He'll probably be better next season.
But Tevez makes them tick. Like for like might be Aguero, who has announced he's leaving Athletico. Similar stature, pace, attributes, nationality - if City want him, they can outbid anyone.
Although, given the fire sale going on at Arsenal, they might just buy Van Persie instead.

Didn't he say he wasn't signing with City for the money? I suspect that's just a clichy...Dello wrote:Man City sign their third expensive left back in three years. Clichy begins the Arsenal exodus.
Coat? Yeah, mine's the grey one...

He had to say that, having told the media a couple of years ago, when Adebayor swapped Arsenal for City, that the only reason any player would join them would be for money.
Re: The Football Thread - 2011/12
Ah well, time to roll this one out then...
What's the difference between gunmen in Togo and Arsenal fans?
Arsenal fans don't miss Adebayor.

They've been stung again, The Pool.
A combined £65ish million for Andy Carroll, Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam? Deary me.
Any clubs looking to make some money for old rope - flog a player to Liverpool. They're pissing it away on any old shite.
