Glossary update 2011
It came to the attention of some of us yesterday in one of the hilarious resurrected threads that revolved around poster reports, that the woody and highly descriptive term Triumvirate of Gash is remarkably not in the Glossary. So here's your chance. Perhaps it will motivate the Glossarians - Zog and Piefellow - to instigate an update - or not. Or Fromage will be motivated to include some suggestions. Whatever.
I hereby suggest:
Triumvirate of Gash (humourous meaning to be inserted by Danny - if you will please Mon-keh?)
Arsecloning - the act of creating threads with a very similar title to an existing one.

Re: Glossary update 2011
From memory (and bear in mind there have been several hundred, even thousand alcohol units consumed since Glossary v1.0, so my memory may not be entirely reliable) there was an objection from someone about Triumvurate of Gash due to some sort of sexist overtone. Or maybe I imagined that. Or hallucianted it.
Anyway, given that qunt seems to have entered accepted usage, and also that my motivation towards regular glossary maintenance is about the same as Jay's motivation towards regular forum maintenance, it's not really my call...

and I move at the pace of a snail, too (and we're no longer able to do glossary moderation as and when, anyway)
update suggestions will happen, sometime in the next year or so (sooner if someone else does it) ... this seems as good a thread as any to post suggestions on

I have obviously missed discussions that have given rise to this term. What does the 'ohl' appendage to Belf mean?Dello wrote:It's Belfohl™.
The ™ is essential.

Meh - Commonly used term to express indifference or apathy.
...be amended to included reference to the Forum's Glossarians i.e. "e.g. the attitude of posters Zat and lardbucket towards updating this Glossary."

To do a "tac" - report the forum or individual forummers.
As he was the first I feel its right that he should be so honoured,

Meh, taccy did a lot of things. Singling out just one seems a bit random.taipan wrote:To do a "tac" - report the forum or individual forummers.

Of course "to be vilkranged, vilkified, vilked etc" must get a run.

Re: Glossary update 2011
To do a "Henry" - name at least 100 first class cricketers who you predict will become test superstars in the next couple of years.
I tried this last week with Nick Stevens. Hopefully in ten years time no-one will mention that he was dropped from his club's first grade team after 4 games in the 2011/12 season & was never heard of again.
