Re: Glossary update 2011
Oh go on then, i'll finish off my list:
Here's the penultimate installment -
Rolf: (n) EIther a) knack prone Australian seamer Ryan Harris, or b) filth prone South African Wheely-Bin impersonator Paul Harris.
Saj the Wonder Horse: (n) Aquiline Lancashire and England bowler Sajid Mahmood, considered by many on the forum to be nothing more than a shire pony, but others such as 'Dello' remain convinced his a worthy thoroughbred.
Shazzam: (n) Yorkshire and England's '4-Dimensional' seam bowler Ajmal Shazhad, see also Showaddywaddy
Showaddywaddy: (n) Yorkshire and England's time travelling paceman Ajmal Shazhad, see also Shazzam
Shankar, a: (v) An imposter, named after Worcestershire's legendary batsman Adrian Shankar. Other examples include Steve Smith and Aftab Habib
Sherminator, The: (n) England batsman Ian Bell (pre 2009 and ODI version)
Skull: (v) To post excessively, often in relation to how often others are not posting excessively enough
Super Adil: Yorkshire and (occasional) England spinner Adil Rashid, see also The Future of Cricket, and English Leg-Spinner! I Think I Might Have Jizzed My Pants

Re: Glossary update 2011
I have long-since revoked my membership to Planet Saj, thank you very much.
I gave him my full backing, but he let me down. In a way, he let himself down. But mostly he let me down.
And that's just something he's going to have to live with.

Re: Glossary update 2011
Last batch from me:
Teenager, The: (n) Young Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi who burst onto the scene at the age of 14 and now fifteen years later is still wowing the crowd as a promising 19 year old, see also The Youngster
Terminator, The: (n) Ian Ronald Bell crica 2009 onwards
Terrorist, The: (n) South African batsman Hashim Amla, so named by commentator Dean Jones for his ability to strike terror into the hearts of oppostion bowlers.
Third Reich: Plentiful era of oranges and bananas often wistfully referenced by forumer 'Allan D'
Toni: (n) Indian celebrity, hair model and part-time cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni
Tredmill: (n) Reliably ineffective Kent off spinner James Tredwell
Vilkied, Utterly: (n) Garbled gibberish as typified by forumer 'Vilkrang' after one of his visits to the 'Upul Tharanga drawer'
Wales: Barren wet land populated mainly by clouds, sheep, 'DJ Smerk' and James Harris. On a cloudy day you can't see the clouds for the rain and sheep.
Youngster, The: Pakistani all rounder, classical dancer and retirementaholic Shahid Afridi. Afridi is 19 years old and had retired 19 times. See also The Teenager

Re: Glossary update 2011
shame that when you're talking about cricket with people who don't know about the plentiful (oranges and bananas) fruits of the forum, most don't get these cricketer name references. I've think the only one I've managed to get in a convo is 'Dogscratch'.

Meh, non-FBers wouldn't be expected to "get" our quirky taste in nicknames. So be it.
However I know my youngest brother gets a chuckle as I scream at various players on the Teev, using their Bails nicknames, particularly after I've explained the origin.

I prefer "Quiming" as it fits the Banjo roob (who loves to sledge people at 3.00 am in the morning when they ain't about) to a tee , and it has quntish connotations.Fred Nerk wrote:G.Wood wrote:Nerking: to claim you DGAF after your previous 6 posts have clearly demonstrated you do

I didn't start the thread and from what I read of Dello's various posts about the whole thing tac did a pretty good hatchet job on himself.
Quiming, felching whatever. I get a lot of practice trying to suck the sense out of your posts.

Is it just me, or does the bolded sentence make absolutely no sense at all in the context of what he has quoted? I started the thread as an opportunity to update the Glossary, and I have NFI what your Dello ref is about. Weirdo.
