So, have any of those who were saying the cold snap a couple of weeks back was proof there's no climate change said anything about the record warm winter days in much of SE Aus in the past week? Just curious.

No, just wondering why there hadn't been anything said after a week of warmer than 'normal' weather, when you're one of the first to say summat when there's a mild cold snap.

But I am more inclined to believe the bulk of the global scientific community than boofheads like 'Lord' Monckton, Alan Jones, and Ray Hadley.

No mention of the cold or the warmth, other than lardy and I exchanging pleasantries about how cold it was a few weeks back, which was nothing more than a mid-winter observation. shrug

Another bloodbath underway in world stocks. ASX down 4.5% today after the Dow fell by over 500 points in it's worst day since the GFC. So are we heading into GFC Mk II?

What will the Vulture and the Ugly Duckling splurge with now that they've already smashed open the piggy bank and squandered our surplus?

Wow, it's like you hope there is a global recessions and millions of Australians lose their jobs just to see the ALP fall.

Phurt. What a sooky pinko thing to say. I merely hope for decent economic management, something I don't see from the Vulture and the Duckling. Of course, you will have other ideas on the Pinko waste-athon.

Paying for sh!t that achieves nothing or expends a large amount of money for little beneficial return.

They did use what money howard and costello didn't waste on vital national infrastructure and was leftover from the pile wasted on buying votes.

Had those two clowns not banked the money and spent it on NI we not only would have sailed through the GFC we would have not had been as hard hit during the Summer.

Pink Batts was the biggest Murdoch beat-up since the last one.

There is nothing wrong with the economy apart from obstacles being put in the way of long term and much needed reform by the arch back-flipper.

Any mining tax reforms alone would modernise a system that hasn't changed much since Federation and is in desperate need of a facelift. But no! A bunch of zillionaires, one who's in jail, one the judge said should be in jail, one waiting for the CMC to fall on him, one who escaped rotting in a prison by having his body rot in a West African jungle and one who stepped down so as to save his fortune when the authorities finally catch him up and his company's share price plummets mount the most ludicrous and deceitful campaign in the country's history.

Yeah let's fix the economy by putting the guy who's "not interested" in economics in charge.

Wound me up as much as you want Skully. But if you actually validated your $50 billion wastage number with real sources, then maybe I too would start be critical of this government. But if you cannot, then stop spewing your farkin rubbish.

hmmn...if that is the measure...lets abolish defence, baby bonus, family tax benefit...complete and utter waste...both the programs you slander have generated worthwhile goods plus they pump primed the economy at a crucial time...the ALP saved the Oz economy....not that I think Oz deserves to do well - given our vocation as a nation seems to be the rich mean spirited white hacienda with 5 brms and pool trash of Asia....as individuals we squander on yet more tellies that will ultimately find their way into landfill

Australia needs a sharpish contraction

whoa ...and it looks like it will happen - politically anyway...word is out down here that Turnbull has the numbers now to knock of the madmonk
