I just hope we bat first or we may learn nothing!

In theory the bowling should be much stronger than the batting in this squad. I must say Fidel has always been an expensive T20 bowler though, and at this stage of his career Russell is very inconsistent, however talented he is. Bishoo is class though.
We also have to recognise that it is pretty cold and they have been in England for 2/3 days. Hopefully the bowling and fielding will be sharper tomorrow. The batting is just too poor though, not much can be done about that.
Who else would be in the side? I can only think of Rampaul off the top of my head.
Re: Eng v WI, 2 match T20 series, The Oval, 23 & 25 Sep, 2011
Isnt there another Windies leggie who did pretty well in some ODIs against Pakistan and India recently?
Missing because of IPL/disputes with the Board/Strange non-selection-
Gayle, Dwayne and Daren Bravo, Pollard, Rampaul, Roach.
I'm sure i've missed a few players who are better than the current lot.

I was talking about the bowling attack. I suppose Bravo, Gayle and Pollard can all bowl. And Roach may be a candidate. That's quite a lot. Batting's immeasurably weaker, definitely.

Borthwick in for Finn, with Brezzie Lad retained. Shome mishtake surely?

Maybe they want to encourage the Stanford Prote'ge's.

And Borthy (or is it Wicky?) claims his first scalp.

Weak weak weak effort to bowl first on a low turning pitch. Unless Marlon Samuels can produce something they'll struggle to beat yesterdays score...

Maybe Swann is thinking he can get home by 9.30.

Somewhere deep in rural Scotland a slapheaded gentlemen has literally bust a nut.
And to the match, yes wholly agree with 'bustnuts#, what a cynical decision by Swann to bowl first. The WI are just flailing. As beams said, may not even make it to 100.
Dear oh dear.

Lowest score by the Windies in T20Is in England - 101 v. the Lankies on this ground in 2009. Lowest score v.Eng - 125 here 2 nights ago.

Overbowling Ravi there, after Swanny was talking him up t'other night. He's no more than a decent partnership breaker.

I'm glad they've at least made nearing 6 an over. I wanted a bit of pressure hitting to have to occur. It's quite a slow wicket, may have trouble with their spinners.
Re: Eng v WI, 2 match T20 series, The Oval, 23 & 25 Sep, 2011
114 to win then... meh.
I'll lose it a bit if at the fall of the first wicket Ravi walks out leaving Jonny B and Buttler without a chance to bat.

That will be the case certainly. Ravi's the designated number 3 now, I reckon.
Re: Eng v WI, 2 match T20 series, The Oval, 23 & 25 Sep, 2011
Santokie gates Hales. He looks a good bowler. No pace, but real swing. A bit like a left armed Praveen. Really good slower ball.
Lever, shows what I know, Stokes is in!

Can we really fark this one up? Consitions in the bowlers' favour but they just need to not do anything silly, unfortunately our most experienced batsman in this side is Chavi Flops!

I reckon credit where it's due. Santokie and Mathurin have bowled excellently. There has hardly been anything to hit at all, even for singles.
Re: Eng v WI, 2 match T20 series, The Oval, 23 & 25 Sep, 2011
Stokes is looking more relaxed, don't want to woof him but he looks good.
Re: Eng v WI, 2 match T20 series, The Oval, 23 & 25 Sep, 2011
Bairstow bowled being a bit too cute. Game on. What a spell from Mathurin. Good to see these chaps get a bat. We bat deep though, still a big ask.
Re: Eng v WI, 2 match T20 series, The Oval, 23 & 25 Sep, 2011
Mrs Stokes if you're reading this your son is batting very well.
