I'm actually looking forward to these for some reason. Probably just to see how all the noobs get on... if I was having to watch Alastair Cook trying to play ODI cricket again it would be a different story.
Plus I'm quite looking forward to the commentators mincing on like they know who the farq the new WI players are.

Aye deffo Lever, for all those three things.
Especially seeing Beddy, Hales, Bairstow, Buttler and Stokes have a bash. None of this excruciatingly mundane watching of Bell, Trott and Cook try to slog... aww another skewed off the bat at right angles to where the meant it to go type thing.

They should at least insist that Murdoch stumps up the $1m per player on the winning side if Sky want these to go ahead...Dello wrote:skully wrote:Wow, is that right, kkf? That is quite unbelievable. Administrators gone made.
It's a legacy of that Stanford deal the ECB cut a couple of years ago before the mental Texan crook got busted. The contracts on X number of Eng/Windes T20s were signed, sealed, delivered, I'm yours, then and there.
No backing outsies. Neither sides wants to play them. But here we are.

His dad Pat was awesome in goals for Eire back in the day.

Gosh, I can't wait, SO less arse-tightening than watching those poor unfortunates being miles out of their comfort zone, stepping out and half-batting fours down to third man or fine leg. Yeah, it could go tits up for them but at least we're giving ourselves the best chance.
Re: Eng v WI, 2 match T20 series, The Oval, 23 & 25 Sep, 2011
Golly. Can I be arsed?
Decisions, decisions...

Re: Eng v WI, 2 match T20 series, The Oval, 23 & 25 Sep, 2011
WHAT? So you can be bothered to watch a bunch of limited munters spastic their way to a 3-0 in the "who's the shittest wanky tossers" series, but can't be arsed to watch steroid-hitters who actually have a bit more dynamism and a bit less selfishness? I really do not know what is wrong with you. Is it drugs? F*cking Talk To Frank like every other qunt does. Talk to him whilst watching the cricket.
Re: Eng v WI, 2 match T20 series, The Oval, 23 & 25 Sep, 2011
It's like tea-time or early evening or something.
There's got to be something better to do. There's just got to be...

Think I've now got £12 to last me until Tuesday. I suppose I can see if there's a dogfight around my area to bet it on, ORRRRR I watch the cricket. As I say, if you liked the boring missionary of Trott and Bell, I'm sorry. I want the reverse-cowboy fireworks of the youngsters. Your apathy is frankly every entire thing that is not only wrong with this board, but with the entire country. You've not heavily encrusted yourself in plebbery. Well done Dello.

Is it on yet? Is it in Kensington or Kennington?
Has anybody lost the toss?

But teatime or something where? What sort of tea? Island alcoLilt, Builders' brew or Earl Grey darling? Is there a round of Mother's Pride, red snapper and achee, or a slab of parkin?

How do I know if Dello is still hugging his hideaway on the Isle of Wight, or has come steaming out of Cowes specially to avoid this mini-series?
He might be sharing digs with Someone in Saudi, for all I know. Over a pot of leppseng siuwshong held back from the 70s.

I-uhn-uhh. Half 5 man. Half f*cking 5. 5 hours away.

That's too early for tea, anyway. I'm a 6 o'clock minimum man.
Re: Eng v WI, 2 match T20 series, The Oval, 23 & 25 Sep, 2011
I've just heard this "series" is going to have an unorthodox start.
A man bearing a plate of doughnuts from Wilko is going to arrive in a helicopter in the middle of the pitch, drop his trousers and get serviced by all the players' WAGs.
The climax of the opening ceremony will be when they hold up the empty doughnut plate and realise the guy has flown off with the trophy and proceeds from the gate.
