Three wickets for four runs and RSA will have a record I thought would never be broken

Back to the era of 2-day Test matches when the pitch disintegrated on the 2nd day. Oz out for the lowest ever Test score yet will will still win by 150.

Might only be 1 wicket now if Marsh can't bat.
Some of the batting has been a bit rubbish it has to be said.

26 by NZ and 19/90 by Laker are the two records unlikely to ever be beaten until today

The Kiwis folded to a mixture of seam and spin in 27 overs at Auckland in March 1955 from an Ashes-winning side (Tyson 2-10, Statham 3-9, Appleyard 4-7, Wardle 1-0).

TFFT.
Another 4 or 5 edges through slips now would be good.

Result is tough to call. I've seen plenty of games where the side batting 4th has reached 200 reasonably comfortably after a couple of low scores in inning 2 and 3 (admittedly in the low 100's!)

Is Steyn injured? He hasn't touched 140kph at all both in the ODIs and here. Bowling around 132.

Greatest number of wickets to fall in a day - 27 at Lord's, 17 July 1888 - Eng 18-3 -> 53 all out, Aus (2nd inns) 60 all out, Eng 63 all out with Oz winning by 61.
Shortest innings (by balls) by Australia - 99 balls (58 - 1 batsman absent) v. Eng., at The Gabba in December 1936.

WTF?? Hotspot "out of range"??
Is that code for "piece of junk"?
And if they knew hotspot isn't working, shouldn't they have told South Africa that before they reviewed it?

So, since lunch Saf lost 9/47 and Aust lost 10/47.
And to think Taips accused me of woofing earlier.
A bit of a worry that our No 10 and 11 seemed to find it reasonably easy.

Strike a light, the 10th innings partnership is going to be most of the score.

Wow - it takes Australia's worst innings in about 100 years to bring OP back.

Australia's 4th lowest ever score and lowest against any opponent apart from England. Lowest score in 109 years.

There's still 30 overs left in the day. I need to go to bed.

It's been very bizarre. The pitch looked flat for the first 15 overs of South Africa's innings, then Watson came on and caused all sorts of carnage, but then in the Aus second innings, the first nine wickets it looked like the ball was moving at right angles and the Aussie batsmen had never played a game of cricket in their lives. Then Siddle and Lyon came in and the pitch suddenly.....like in a matter of 2 minutes, seemed to flatten right out again.
This pitch has a serious temper. How do batsmen play on it? Perpahs they could start by batting a foot or two out of their crease to try and take LBW out of the picture.

Well, well.
If this was the CC, the pitch inspectors would be there already.
