Dour and drab 0-0 - England won't get out of their half.
Re: Euro 2012 Thread
We'll do a smash'n'grab at the very least - this is the mighty England we're talking about!
Re: Euro 2012 Thread
Think France will knick this. And that Lloris is a monster, not that it matters if England's main striker be Carroll.
Now that I've said it, England will win 4-0 with Carroll gettng a hat trick.

I think the 'official' team has Wellbeck and Young up front with Ox playing a floaty thing. Not a long haired donkey in sight.
Re: Euro 2012 Thread
Aye, Welbeck starting. Debuchy at right back for the Frogs. They look almost very good in attack, shame about Malouda's inclusion.
Gourcuff, the next big thing two years ago to shitting away in Lyon nowadays. Him in best form would've been some inclusion.

Well that had Roy Hodgson stamped all over it tbh.
Limited side which competes for 90 minutes, and will not play gung ho open football only to be spanked at the back.
Says it all that with such low expectations 1-1 is seen as a decent result. Sweden next? Bogey side.

England defended far too deeply. The Midfield was practically on top of the defence. Same old story!

Re: Euro 2012 Thread
We aren't going to play attractive football under Woy. France have gone over 20 games umbeaten though so 1-1 is a good result for us. I think we have to be realistic and acknowledge that it's going to be a tough few years for us.
It's actually probably the perfect time for us to have a manager like Hodgson, I don't think he would have got the best out of the England of the 2000s but he'll probably do alright under the team he inherited.

Decent point and solid enough start. France were a bit better on the ball but didn't threaten Hart's goal that much.
We can't play a possession game against Europe's finest as we don't have the quality, so we have to play to our strengths which are organisation and counter attack.

Re: Euro 2012 Thread
I'm surprised at the lack of criticism for France. They were just as negative as England... very hesitant to move the ball forward unless it was a punt up field to Ribery.
Re: Euro 2012 Thread
Compared to 2011, yesterday was total football from the frogs. Mind, they did seem to play some better football in the last two matches, but still shite in general.

As it turned out, yes. Australia dodged a bullet though, 1-1 against a proper strong Japan. The referee was pathetic, not favouring any side, but just low quality.JGK wrote:Big Dog wrote:Meanwhile Australia played a very uninspiring nil all draw against Oman. Saving them for the Japan game this week?
