Re: Euro 2012 Thread
Ronaldo's reaction is priceless as usual. Glad he didn't get the chance to take one, that will prey on his mind, dickhead should have stepped up earlier. Alves always looked like missing body language wise although the penalty was only an inch away from being perfect.

Re: Euro 2012 Thread
Was trying to think what on earth made Ronaldo go last, he looked itching to take one the whole way through. I think the commentators might have had it spot on when they suggested he wanted to take the "glory" penalty that took Portugal through. Jokes.

Don't Messi and Ronaldo have poor penalty conversion records anyway
The two best players in the world struggling from the spot. Whodathunkit

Ronaldo is of course Portuguese for Ashley...hence he knew better than to take a penalty shot

Re: Euro 2012 Thread
Disappointing match. I thought tactically Portugal got it spot on. Press Spain high up the pitch and make sure everybody chips in. Made Spain play the long ball game for a good 40 mins. It made for a boring game, but kept Portugal in the it. I think Nani's a dick for pulling Alves away.

Germany are S'ing their K's at the minute... they've had a top 5 minutes but have wasted two good opportunities. I'm hoping for a German goal soon.. it'll make for some great viewing.

Italy always win tournaments when there's a match-fixing scandal hanging over the country...

Re: Euro 2012 Thread
Heh, yeah I saw that the other day. Germany look all at sea... they're lacking the final ball. Leaving gaps at the back. Bad times.
Re: Euro 2012 Thread
great hip-ball penalty there. So it's 2-1, not 2-0. Big effing woop.

Re: Euro 2012 Thread
Well, I wouldn't have picked that. Nor would Germany. But then they went into the game with entirely different tactics. It didn't help that they snatched at every chance they made. Italy hit them on the break well and they always had to regroup. A really good effort by Italy though, Balzaretti was immense, so was Chiellini.
Re: Euro 2012 Thread
Have they got another performance like that in them? They matched Spain in the first group game, but I think we might see a fairly sterile final decided from 12 yards.

Re: Euro 2012 Thread
It'll be more difficult because so much of Italy's play has come through Pirlo and I don't think Spain will give him that much time on the ball, they pack the midfield way too much. I think Italy will be hard to break down, though.

Spain-Italy then. Same difference.

They were beaton in the semi or final. Probably will happen again.
Let me change this to
Germany has looked unstoppable in the last four major tournaments in 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2012
They were beaten in the semi or final
