Re: The Walking Dead
Biggest shock? Maggie remembers she has a sister called Beth. Cos, not being funny, but she seemed to forget for about 10 episodes that her sister had been kidnapped. Or did I fall asleep and miss something??

Re: The Walking Dead
No, you are correct ND, but Maggie was too busy staying alive during the Terminus, Church and trip to Washington in the fire truck affairs.

She ceased giving a shit about Beth once the prison went down. Then it was all about finding Glenn, bollocks to everyone else. I'm not sure they've spoken in a season and a half.
But she'll be all blubbery about it now. For several episodes, I imagine.
Daryl's the real loser in all this. He put in the groundwork with young, nubile, anime-eyed Beth, listened to her singing without crossbowing himself in the ears and gave her a taste for booze. But it was all for nought. Now stringy old Carol is his only option for a vigorous bunk up.

Meh, I'd have gone for Carol anyway. I know she's got a few miles on the clock, but (to quote Full Metal Jacket) she looks like she could suck the chrome off a trailer hitch....

Re: The Walking Dead
Just watching a behind the scenes special on TWD on Fox FX. It is so weird hearing an ever so British accent coming out of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln is of course English).
The show returns tomorrow.

Re: The Walking Dead
S05E09. Pretty good.
- Spoiler:
- Ep opens with a montage that doesn’t make sense until the ep is viewed.
The A-team takes the decision to go to Noah’s hometown (a gated community) north of Richmond, Virginia (yup, 500 freakin miles from Atlanta), because…the dome… (oops, wrong show!!)…because Beth said she’d go there with Noah. Hmmm.
Natch, the place is a wreck and crawling with walkers. Noah sits sobbing in the street and Glenn laments the setback of losing Beth just after finding she was alive. Noah runs to his house (with Tyreese shadowing) & finds his Mum’s corpse with a chunk out of her head. Tyreese hears noises & wanders into a bedroom (WTF?). He sees photos of Noah’s brothers & daydreams, allowing a zombie brother to bite him. Noah stabs it in the head.
Tyreese hallucinates about dead characters (including the Guv, Bob, Carol’s girls, Martin & god damn it – singing Beth!!) talking to him about fate. As he dreams, he gets jumped by another walker & offers up his already bit arm to buy time to grab a rock & debrain the zombie.
Michonne wants to set up shop but Rick doesn’t agree – too much overhanging forest. Outside the fence she finds body parts, & knows Rick is right. So she changes tack & say let’s go to Washington (100 miles away), even if Eugene lied. Rick thinks then agrees.
After a fighting off a steel-reinforced zombie & his mates, Rick, Glenn & Michonne run with Noah to his house. Tyreese comes out his hallucinations just as Michonne is chopping off his bitten arm.
We then get a pretty awesome slowmo battle with zombies as the group try to get dying Tyreese to the van. The van is bogged & whacks a truck as it jumps free, with chomping zombie torsos flying out!!! Tyreese dies in the back seat, with ghosts telling him it’s OK.
The ep was really a journey through Tyreese’s conscience & a childhood of listening to the world’s bad news on the radio. RIP big T.
Verdict: a bit of an arty grin.

Pretty good? One of the worst WD episodes ever. Sweet baby Jesus - dream sequences and Beth returning to play the guitar? F*ck the f*ck off.
Re: The Walking Dead
Eye of the beholder, D.
- Spoiler:
- Once the dead started to show up in T's delirium, I just knew we'd get singing Beth, so I LOLed when she popped into view - and I knew you wouldn't be happy.
I thought it a decent send-off for the big sook. Rather than just have him bitten then die, turn and get his head cut off.

Re: The Walking Dead
What an interminable episode. Was it directed by Beth's agent? I thought we'd seen the last of her, but no, she had to return for one final pointless warble.
Hope to Christ it gets better, but it really does look like they've run out of ideas now.

It was random cameo agogo. Perhaps they all still had contractual obligations. What the f*ck was the Governor doing there? I don't remember him having any kind of relationship with Tyreese. Obviously he didn't either, as the only conversation he could recall was once, vaguely, mentioning something about people earning their keep.
I hope David Morrissey was over in America doing something else - what a waste of everyone's time and money to fly him over just to repeat "earn your keep" on a loop.
What happened to that woman that Tyreese was supposed to be in madly love with (having known her for about two days), fixing to homicidally brutalise whoever it was that turned her into charcoal? No appearance for her in his acid trip. I guess he wasn't that bothered after all. She didn't make as much an impression on him as that one time the Governor told him to earn his f*cking keep. That shit's seared into his memory.
Stupid episode. Stupid send off. Rhubarb.

Aye, she's grown into a fine young woman.
Would you believe Emily Kinney (Beth) turns 30 in August!!

I knew it was something along those lines, but yeah, she looks nothing like that. My imagination has all but gone, but what's left imagines a soapy shower with her and Maggie followed by some random brik-a-brak sex. Fun times. Probably. I'll never, ever know.
