Keep it in the thread it belongs, Pink boy. And bore us with your political persuasions while you're there, if it takes your fancy.
Meanwhile, do you have any thoughts on the latest TWD ep, or have you not even watched it?

Re: The Walking Dead
S05E10. A bit slow.
- Spoiler:
- A depressing, reflective ep with Daryl having a cry over Beth, & Maggie & Sasha doubting they can go on.
The group are fast running out of water as they limp towards DC. They survive a wild dog attack, & feast on the carcasses. Sasha has a meltdown when a horde shuffles after them, with Michonne chastising her.
Daryl finds a barn, while the rest come across a bunch of full water bottles with a sign "From a Friend". They don't trust the gift.
It starts to rain (a rare moment of happiness) & it looks ugly on the horizon. Daryl gets them to the barn to ride out the approaching storm. As the storm gets stronger, a horde of walkers attempts to bash down the barn door. The whole group works to hold the door against the zombie surge.
The group wakes up next morning having apparently* survived the raid. Maggie & Sasha go outside, & we see the horde was decimated by what looks like a tornado!! Sasha can't believe the barn survived. I presume this is a nod to God (the Rev had chucked his collar in the fire the night before).
Maggie & Sasha look at a sunrise. Maggie opens a music box that Carl found earlier but it won't play (Daryl had fixed it). A new dude, Aaron, appears & asks to see the person in charge. The music box starts to play.

Possibly Nath. Watched on Fox, so didn't have the pause and rewind (which I often need for mumbling Daryl) to check lines.

Re: The Walking Dead
The one in which the group are hungry and thirsty and they eat a dog and it rains.
And then the plot kicks in at the very end.
I've had sausages with less filler.

Re: The Walking Dead
Is Aaron...
- Spoiler:
- ...the latest incarnation of the Guvner? From the shorts, the team is treating him with the appropriate amount of suspicion. "You can trust me"..["Fark orf, pretty boy"]."We don't know you".

Re: The Walking Dead
- Spoiler:
- We've all seen this before- New guy comes along who is seemingly a good guy. Despite initially not trusting him they take him in. Then they start realising that Mr nice guy isn't as nice as they all thought, and is in fact, a complete psycho. People die, people get hurt, people get tied up and given long, ego-filled lectures, a few walkers get killed, Rick and co emerge battered and bruised and slightly less removed from the people they were from before this all happened, and repeat.

The trouble is, the group keep talking about going to Washington, but the writers have to continually find ways to keep them in Georgia, where they film the series.
It's sort of amazing how little they've moved from where they began some two-to-three years ago (in story time). It's not like they haven't had vehicles.
It's a wildly successful show, AMC can keep churning out the same formula for years while it remains profitable - they only have to retain one or two can't-be-killeds (Rick, Daryl) on decent contracts. The rest of the cast can be made up of those who'll work for cheapest. It's a sweet deal for the network. I don't see them making any moves towards progressing the story any time soon, not when they're raking it in.
Re: The Walking Dead
Aren't they technically meant to be in Virginia now, just "60 miles out" from DC?

Re: The Walking Dead
Indeed, Trev. In Ep 9 they were north of Richmond, Va (about 100 miles from DC). They drove a good distance in the van before it ran out of gas, so they must be well inside the 100 mile radius.Henry wrote:Aren't they technically meant to be in Virginia now, just "60 miles out" from DC?
Can't see them going back to Georgia, but who knows?

Re: The Walking Dead
S05E11 – hmmm, another slow builder.
- Spoiler:
- Aaron gives a sales pitch to the group to join his community, but gets snotted by Rick for his trouble. Once he comes to, he explains that his people value the A-team’s resilience & want them on board. Rick wants none of it, but Michonne & Maggie want to investigate.
Abraham, Rosita, & Glenn go with Michonne & Maggie to check out the alleged transport. Rick gives them 60 minutes before Aaron is killed. As they walk, Some dude watches them from behind a tractor.
They find a car & a RV. They clean both out of food & return to the shack. Rick is still resistant but Michonne speaks up & says it’s time to take this chance. Rick agrees but insists on major approach precautions to the camp location.
Rick tells a sceptical Michonne that he’s sincere about going, but won't be going in without seeing what’s behind the camp walls first, citing the Woodbury and Terminus debacles.
Michonne gets suspicious on the way, when she sees no people in Aaron’s photos. They then hit a wall of walkers, but driver Glenn plows right through. The car stalls with the radiator full of walker guts. A flare goes up in the distance & Aaron panics & escapes into the bush. Glenn finds him & saves him from a walker. Glenn & Aaron return to splatter an advancing hoard as they start to overcome Rick & Michonne.
The flare leads to a small group of buildings, where the RV ended up after being inexplicably separated from the car in the hoard plowing incident. The rest of the group in the RV showed up to save the effeminate Eric, Aaron’s lover, from another hoard. Hmm, I assume the RV exploits were left on the cutting room floor. I also assume the dude behind the tractor was Eric. Anywho, after some argument, they all simmer down & get some sleep.
They head out next day & approach DC. The RV naturally breaks down. After a “we’ll be fine” pep-talk from Michonne, Rick buries a pistol in the bush for later. They get going again & reach Alexandria (apparently* an outer suburb of DC).
You just know the visit to Alexandria will turn ugly.

He's got a new show in the UK. Some hospital rubbish.
So I've no idea what the point of teasing his reappearance in the Walking Dead is all about as it doesn't look like he's about to join the cast.

It all feels very familiar. With added gays. That's new, I guess. Although Michonne and Andrea seemed suspiciously close during that long winter they spent together...

I can only see her enormous wig (the actress has a buzz cut). It could have a show of its own.
It's a bit like the former Arsenal footballer Gervinho. Once you notice his incredible hairline, that's all you will ever notice.
