Re: Aus Federal Politics thread (V)
Interesting only in that it is my home town electorate
"The NSW Nationals last night announced they had opened nominations in Mr Oakeshott's mid-north coast electorate of Lyne. Nominations will close next Friday, with a ballot of local branch members held on July 1.
The strong favourite to oppose Mr Oakeshott is local hospital gastroenterologist David Gillespie. Mr Gillespie, 54, a close friend of Tony Abbott, was comfortably beaten by Mr Oakeshott in 2010.
However, local Nationals and political commentators believe Mr Oakeshott is vulnerable following his support for the Gillard government and the carbon tax."
--------------------------------------------
"Vulnerable"?? He's gonna get smashed. The dill was on the wireless this morning saying Lyne is not a conservative seat. FFS, from the day it was gazetted it was always held by the Country Party or the NCP, until he stood as an ex-NCP Independent at the last election. A large baseball bat is going to be taken to his ballot box over the qunt's non-conservative treachery in siding with the Vulture.

Meanwhile, the LNP in NSW prove to be as useless and untrustworthy as the mob they replaced. The budget has seen a doubling in the FHB grant to $15k but only for new houses (ie those poor developers will be the big winners); an increase in traffic fines by 12.5% (qunts, I thought it was just about road safety) and a further delay on the abolition of a whole stack of business transactions taxes and duties (ie they are taxing people to carry on business in NSW).

But still streets ahead in talent and performance compared to the Vulture's motley crew. They're actually getting stuff done rather than just pissing billions up the wall like the Fed fools.

The abusers (many of who don't sign their name) are probably pretending to have "Christian" values. Small minded qunts.

Shameful but lets face it, the pro Gay lobby has used the same tactics. They continually use political correctness to shut down any debate over the subject by using intimidation, threats & bullying against anyone with the temerity to have a different opinion to them.
Whether they acknowledge it or not there are millions of people whose cultural or religious beliefs do not agree with same sex marriage and they have just as much right to an opinion as the gays.
I am opposed to gay marriage but I am also opposed to marriage of any kind...I find the institution of marriage objectionable - whether state or religio approved

Re: Aus Federal Politics thread (V)
TWO former Gillard supporters have privately hit out at the Prime Minister's swipe at Kevin Rudd at the weekend, claiming it was ill-advised and would stir up those working against her.
Two senior right-wing MPs who had previously backed Ms Gillard over Mr Rudd yesterday expressed alarm at what appeared to be personal attacks against Mr Rudd.
"There was absolutely no justification for it," said one. "I thought it showed a complete lack of judgment and it makes it hard for people to continue to support her."
Ms Gillard made a veiled swipe at the former prime minister, suggesting Mr Rudd had always tried to be "the smartest person in the room" when he was leader.
On Monday night she also stirred Rudd backers, claiming senior ministers who personally attacked Mr Rudd in the lead up to the February leadership challenge, had simply been "telling the truth".
But one of Mr Rudd's supporters also slammed Ms Gillard's comments, claiming they would not help her cause.
"It was very ill-disciplined, and unnecessary," the source said. "If she was on shaky ground before, this just hasn't helped her. It showed an arrogant streak."
The level of disillusionment among MPs is growing, with the NSW Right pushing for a second challenge. The hawks among the discontented want to replace Ms Gillard before the end of June. The more cautious are arguing to delay until later in the year.
Last night, Ms Gillard urged business and industry leaders to talk up Australia's economy in the wake of the past week's strong economic results.
Addressing her economic forum in Brisbane, Ms Gillard told business and trade union leaders she was committed to lowering company tax, despite ditching it in the May budget - claiming Coalition and Green opposition to the mining tax stopped the government passing the legislation.

Ill-disciplined, ill-advised and ill-equipped should be the Vulture's middle names. Meanwhile, the Electorate is just ill.

Vulture on the nose with Tourism
"Ads are running in major papers today accusing Ms Gillard of pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into steel and automotive industries while hitting tourism with new and increased taxes and charges.
One tax mentioned in the ads is the Government's proposed increase in the departure tax to $55 from $47, which the industry has described as a cash grab that unfairly impacts trans-Tasman visitors."
--------------------------------------------
So she's propping up industries that she is screwing with the Carbon Tax yet screwing a previous buoyant industry with new taxes as well. Well played.
Stop the tourists but let aslyum seekers in by the 10's of thousands.

Funny
"A CANBERRA radio broadcaster today was suspended for suggesting a minister attach a camera to his penis to look up the skirt of Prime Minister Julia Gillard.
"I said it and then a whole lot of people started ringing up asking, 'What did you just say?'," Jorian Gardner, on-air announcer and news director of 2CC told news.com.au today.
Mr Gardner said that on the breakfast show this morning he had been discussing lapel cameras for police.
He then suggested that Communications Minister Stephen Conroy should go into a cabinet meeting with a camera attached to his penis to video up the Prime Minister's skirt.
"To see if she's got any balls," said Mr Gardner later."

Its like the Logies. Meaningless awards from people no one has heard of. I presume we are talking about the same Conroy that the IT industry in Australia dubbed 'the worst Communications minister...ever"
