Botham reckons the ground needs a couple of hours to dry out and that is with no more rain.

If this becomes a T20-type scenario, it's advantage Australia considering the plodders we have up front. Dropping a bowler (probably Bresnan) for Bairstow is an option.

I would relish seeing a reduced overs match - it would force these PEDESTRIAN WANKERS to push themselves.
Re: England v Australia, 3rd ODI, Edgbaston, 4 July, 2012
Bowlers run ups and the square look fooked to me, plenty of water coming up.

Covers off, inspection at 5pm.... possible T20 game at 7pm.
Bell, Cook, Trott..... lol
Will probably push Bedwetter up the order.

Trott was the heaviest scoring barsman in 20/20 before his elevation to the colours, and it's a chance for Cook to press his case for the 20/20 side.

I wouldn't. No use hiding these wankstains down the order. It's time for them to man up. Well, not so much man up as don't-be-so-selfish up.

Can we not call up a few of the T20 specialists now?

What a disastrous season for Edgbaston, lost 3 days of the Test, a promotional T20 before the England football game and now this. Not sure if they have a SA ODI but with already having missed out on the Ashes they're going to really struggle financially.

Aye was just going to say the same thing, the poor bastards... they've also had a T20 abandoned and a no result.

Regardless of county rivalries, surely we don't want to see our premier Test venues screwed over by the weather?Basil wrote:beamer wrote:What a disastrous season for Edgbaston, lost 3 days of the Test, a promotional T20 before the England football game and now this. Do go there on occasions, seem to have less luck with the weather than at Trent Bridge, but I have to say they seem pretty poor at getting a game on when the weather clears.
