2013/14 Ashes schedule announced.

Cricket Australia (CA) today confirmed the fixtures for the 2013-14 Ashes Series for what will be a new-look summer of 33 scheduled international playing days.

A schedule of five Commonwealth Bank Series matches and three KFC T20 Internationals to complement the five Ashes Tests will be played for over the 2013-14 summer. The dates and venues of those matches will be confirmed in the New Year.

Well, I have to give the administrators credit for getting the balance right. A total of 3 T20s and 5 ODIs is a hell of a lot better than 7ODIs or an everlasting Tri-Series.

But I can't give them full marks. Once again they've made the mistake of having the limited-overs matches AFTER the Tests. Silly, silly, silly.

Agreed Hass. A good balance.

After taking 10 minutes out of work I've come up with a schedule that puts the limited-overs games first and the Tests second.

The tour starts on the same day, there are just as many matches over just as many days. If only I worked for Cricket Australia.
