Aus squad for SAf
As I've said elsewhere, unless our frail top order performs way more consistently than they did v England, no matter how good our bowlers go, the SAffers will smack us good. With this in mind, here's my stab at the 15 for the tour (and assuming the Beetle experiment is over).
Pup (C)
Haddit (VC/kpr)
Farkwit
Bucky
Dools (time for some solid technique at 3 - I nom "Soap" for Days Of Our Lives)
SF
Vague (for middle order stiffness to cover opener Twat if FW is dropped)
Fergie (ditto)
Fork
Midge
Rhino
Cot
Patto
Elmer
Leo or SOK (depending if they want quick cover or spin cover)

Voges shoulder is farqued ...it was doubtful he'd play again this year . I reckon hes on a shitload of painkillers
I doubt they'll risk him
I'd take Chris Lynn instead (sorryto the Billies if Ive Trevved him)

Bailey will make it simply because they would not want a debutant to debut against Philander and co.

Farkwit could apply to a limitless list of cricketers. But I presume it is School Girl.
What does SF mean?

A fair call, Ponts, and no argument from me. I'm a Beetle fan and reckon he's worth sticking with. However, I don't believe the NSP will.

FW is Warner
Twat is Watson
SF = Specialist Fielder (Smith). I propose "Hell" (short for Helmut Schmidt). Â Â

They took 15 last time, so I imagine they will again. Give us another 2, Trev. Â Â
I think they'll take into account what he did there in 2009. And he's averaging 61 in the Shield this year. Ferguson is no chance.

Nah, Fuse has been given all the chances he needed to fail, and was successful at that. His file is marked NTPTFAA. He's not even in the ODI squad v England.
The Assassin's call on Chris Lynn is valid, but equally, Beetle may be given another chance to lock a spot into the top 6.

Re: Aus squad for SAf
Fasten your belts tight lads - after winning the first one against the customarily undercooked South African team, it could be a bumpy ride.
Thank your lucky stars Kallis has hung up his boots.
I suppose unless Clarke fires and can drag at least one other with him, and unless at least one of Amla or AB raises the opposition batting effort. it will be quite a low-scoring series.
But I'd be surprised if Aus can outbowl SAf.

I think there's not much to chose between the two bowling attacks, but the South African batting is stronger (on paper, at least).

Aust have a better all round attack than Saf.
It is the batting that is the problem.
I think they'll only take 14 won't they?

Re: Aus squad for SAf
It is up to AB and Amla to do the bulk of the batting.
I can see Johnson troubling Smith and Petersen. It might be a lean series for the openers.
It will be closer than people think. I will say 2-1 to RSA.

Yeah, I considered him as the back up opener/no. 3 but I thought two youngsters (if Doolan gets a birth) was a bit much for a tour against the World's best side and bowling attack.

I wasn't game to post that, Ponts, but it did cross my mind. The SAf top 7 doesn't look nearly as solid without the mighty Jackie there, but they do seem to have plenty of batting talent in the ranks to replace him.
