He is the batting equivalent of Mitchell Johnson
embee clearly has been affected by sunstroke suffered during umpring stints over the weekend

Someone suitable is obviously a spiv (a proper one) who we know would not let us down

Re: Aus squad for SAf
he only had to do little
his competition was North White Voges Ferguson or Pomersbach (experienced guys who done something this year ) They are all mehh selections ...Marsh has the most upside
Doolan got the other spot ahead of Lynn or Burns ( Doolan has been at the front of that queue for a while)

Anyone else think that Marsh is mighty lucky to get the trip even if Bailey didn't help his cause?
Australia Test squad for South Africa: Michael Clarke(c), Brad Haddin (vc), Jackson Bird, Alex Doolan, James Faulkner, Ryan Harris, Mitchell Johnson, Shaun Marsh, Nathan Lyon, James Pattinson, Chris Rogers, Peter Siddle, Steve Smith, David Warner, Shane Watson.
Isn't that an NTR?
How so? I couldn't see the actual team listed anywhere.
Because it was in the link; I get picked up for that.
Really? I guess that'd be by your usual protagonist and maybe the Assassin?
I would've thought normal etiquette is to post the link, quote the bit you are intending to comment on or wish to highlight, then make a comment. The link is the proof, the quote is the bit you've targetted or are highlighting, and the comment is...well...your comment.
Anywho, enough of semantics. I feel sorry for Beetle, but the runs weren't there. Bog is dead lucky to be there, with only the complete dearth of FC batting talent allowing his inclusion. The same could be said for Twatson, but he seems to be a darling of the selectors.
It would seem that the NSP is nervous (probably rightly) about chucking Alex Doolan in at the deep end, and Bog is "experienced" cover at the top of the order.
In summary, batting looks fragile, bowling looks solid.
And TF Hughes wasn't picked.

He's never been sure quite how to bat in first class cricket. He seems to be all-out attacking or all-out defensive.
Thanks for the unendorsement
This will be an interesting experiment as to whether Henry's talents work in reverse.
But I don't think Marsh will play any matches anyway.
with the untrevving and the JGKing he'll most likely be highest run scorer
We can but hope. Midge and Haddit (and Warner in various I2s) played out of their socks when few of us expected them to figure much at all in the Ashes. Perhaps Bog at 3 and Twat at 6 will surprise us.
On the squad, does anyone (other than MB) consider NCN unlucky to miss a spot? I guess Tweet was way higher in the pecking order prior to his injury, so deserves to be back in the limelight.

Young Queensland quick Mark Steketee looks a good 'un. I reckon he'll be playing for Australia in the next two years.

Cricinfo on Bog's selection
Pointing out all the statistical reasons why he didnt deserve selection and then giving the reasons he probably was
Liked by Boof ( who coached him in the IPL)
Liked by the team ( who remember his batting in his first few games)
