Q: What's the only thing better than watching Manly lose by 40 points?

Is it wrong to hope that the Panthers win the GF?

Indeed. I wonder if old Arko is still well enough to go to Filth games?
Ahh, I see he is a Gold Coast resident these days, so prolly not a regular attender.

I think it was Moores who departed...I remember Arko and Moores were mates before the Super league wars and then fell out...good times

Rooters score early. Bunnies look like they are going to choke again.

Re: Rugby League 2014
Brutal 1st Half. Very fast start by the R00ters, but the Bunnies clawed their way back with heavy hitting defence and two excellent run-the-ball 5th tackle options for tries, along with 2 sideline conversions by Reynolds.
12-12 at Oranges with a juicy 2nd Half in the offing.

Re: Rugby League 2014
I vaguely remember their last in 1971 when I was a kiddie.
Too good on the night. Great effort after a very slow start. Just steamrolled the R00ters in the end.
Hard to see either Penrith or the Dogs matching them if they can bring that last 65 minutes to next Sunday.

Geez, Penrith have started as badly as the Swans did today with buckets of sloppy errors, but somehow go to oranges at 6-12.
Awful game so far.

Re: Rugby League 2014
Gawd, Penrith were rubbish, and still gave it a shake. They continually turned it back inside, which played right into the hands of Graham and Tolman. They've got the most electrifying backline but hardly used it. Either Cleary is on drugs, or Soward simply ignored the game plan.
The Grub has a foot injury and missed the whole 2nd half. Without Ennis, the Dogs are no show in the GF. They were a rabble without him at dummy half.
Souths by 20 next Sunday.

Re: Rugby League 2014
Reasons why I will be supporting South Sydney in the Grand Final next weekend.
1. I hate Canterbury-Bankstown.
My most-hated team = Manly
Second most-hated team = Bulldogs
2. I have always lived just south of Brisbane so when I was a youngster, I supported teams with "South" in their name - Souths in the Brisbane Rugby League, South Sydney in the NSW Rugby League & South Melbourne in the VFL. At the time Souths in Brisbane & South Melbourne were both ordinary but South Sydney were outstanding. I also think, from memory, that the Grand Final was the only game that was televised up here & they were finalists most years between 1965 & 1971.
My favourite player was Ron Coote but they also had Bob McCarthy, John Sattler, John O'Neill, Elwyn Walters, Ivan Jones, Jim Lisle, Eric Simms, Mike Cleary, Bob Moses, Jim Morgan, Denis Pittard, Bob Grant, Brian James, Bon Honan, Paul Sait, Gary Stevens, Ray Branighan, George Piggins, etc. They had some terrific teams in that era.
Then Coote moved to Easts & I ended up supporting them in three Grand Finals just because of the Coote factor. I later became became a Parramatta supporter when they started playing good football in the late seventies & the Rabbitohs were rubbish.
I also dumped Souths in Brisbane for Wynnum-Manly & South Melbourne for Hawthorn. However, I still have soft spot for the Rabbitohs so will cheering them on next Sunday.
