The Open 2014
Probably the KoD for Scotty, but fingers crossed Adam can finish 1 better than 2012 and 2 better than last year.
Starts today/tonight.

Re: The Open 2014
Wonder if the course will get as difficult as Royal Aberdeen in the afternoon sessions.
Nice start for Molinari (the other one) and Manassero. And bloody hell, Westwood better make the cut.

Talk on the wireless this morning that those with an early tee time should have a bit of head start due to forecast conditions.

Wind or just faster course (as was in Aberdeen)? Forecasts I've seen have it calm wind wise today.

Re: The Open 2014
Weather forecast @ Hoylake today - Some early cloud but should stay bright and dry throughout with a top temp. of 23 C.
My 3 against the field are : Adam Scott (14's); Henrik Stenson (14's) and Shane Lowry (20's) - with an outsider in Bubba at 33's !!

Maybe the faster course. I was half asleep when I heard it.

Great story, John Singleton's. Still even after four.
Poulter's either playing shit or he's still injured... hard to discern this season

I hope so. That's the grouse thing about The Open. No bullshit manicured fairways. A proper challenge, espesh when the weather turns.

Re: The Open 2014
Hopefully happens tomorrow and remains easy tonight. Westwood and Jaidee play in the afternoon, especially after Lahiri's weak opening.
I know that's sad....
F*cking hell, Tiger birdies to go to even. The unending hype shite will continue.

Re: The Open 2014
Francesco eagles the 18th to join his brother and Koepka as clubhouse leader. Wonder when that last happened in a major? Rory takes the lead though

What was Ernie doing on the 1st Hole?
He three putted from 8 inches away.

Rory's driving was something to behold. Nice to see Scott did well overnight and is in the mix at -4.

Poor Ernie was shattered after his opening drive hit a poor old spectator in the face and split him badly.

Ernie is one of my all time favourite golfers...did not watch it last night but from you saw I have no doubt we would be most upset.

Re: The Open 2014
His three-putt on the 1st green was clearly by a man with his mind elsewhere. Drilled a eight-incher too hard, then back-of-the-puttered the next in haste.

Re: The Open 2014
I find it bizarre that sometimes I can sit over a 20 footer and know it is going in the hole and it does and on the next hole I will 3 putt from 10 feet

Re: The Open 2014
The only time I ever played St Andrews (just before the 2000 Open so the greens were slick) I had 4 x 4 putt greens. I had a bit of an Ernie moment on the first hole as well, 2 putting from 10 inches for a bogey.
