Hey! Sergio just holed his approach shot on the second.

A pheasant just trotted across the green & tried to put Rory off his birdie putt but it was to no avail. Rory sank it to go to minus eight & a two shot lead.

A bird tried that when Furyk won the US Open. Safe to say that the attempt failed that time too, but then went on to have a successful career as a pornstar.

The trouble is that Hoylake doesn't have manicured fairways, scissor trimmed greens and beautifully smooth bunkers ... which, I guess, is what Bubba is used to "back home" !

Tiger had some piss-taking ones at his peak, one time he won a major by a double figure margin and Miguel Angel Jimenez who was tied second asked where the play-off for the "other tournament" started...

Even if Rory holds it together he won't shoot that score in every round, if you're 6 or 7 ahead on the last day you just play safe, surely?

Classy work by Rory to lead all the way. His Dad and 3 mates all wagered ₤100 each at 500/1 10 years ago that he'd win the Open before he turned 26. They each collect ₤50,000 as a result!!! Ka-ching!!!

great effort by Rory....a bit dippy in the last round but held it together...good efforts by the Leash (65) and Scotty (66) to both end up tying for 5th

Must be my bias, but thought it was a pretty average Open championship this year. Anyway, Rory was brilliant.
