Dayne. This has been on the cards for a few weeks because Brissie has been throwing money at him. If the Pies don't trade him this year he could walk as a free agent next year.

Re: AFL 2014
Collingwood midfielder Dayne Beams has asked to be traded back to his home state, Queensland.
Beams, 24, is contracted to Collingwood for 2015 but explained that for family reasons he is keen to return to the state he was drafted from in 2008.
While sympathetic to the personal circumstances outlined to the club, Collingwood intends to retain Beams and will seek to help him best deal with these circumstances while continuing to play for Collingwood.
Collingwood Director of Football, Rodney Eade, outlined the club’s position.
“We want Dayne to stay,” Eade said.
“We understand his personal situation and will be working with him and his management, as we do all our players, to find an outcome that may give him more time with his family and remain a Collingwood player for 2015 and beyond.”
Out of respect to Grand Final week and the two competing teams, Collingwood will be making no further comment on this matter.

Carlton and Norf after Higgins. Ryder also on the radar of the Swans.

This 'Buckley likes them monochromatic' trope might actually have legs, and you wonder how much longer the other Dane reckons on hanging round.
Norf can have Higgins, and Waite as well if they want.
(Take that, AFL!)

hmnn...heard some caller on radio make a good point...in 2009 Swans Premiership player Darren Jolly needed to move to Melburne for family reasons.
Sydney quietly and without fuss recognised his needs and facilitated a generous trade to Collingwood..
Five years on the Pies are faced with the same dillemma...with Beams father fighting cancer...yet mcguire, buckley et al again look like they will fail the decency test...no surprise there

Re: AFL 2014
I made the 'monochromatic' comment not knowing about Mr Beams' health issues, but it's still relevant in the Mitchell Clark story. Does Mitch really think he's cut out to be one of Buckley's bank clerks?

A bit disingenous there, McGuire has said that they will try to keep him at Collingwood and help him spend more time at home with his family. If not they're obviously prepared to trade him for adequate compensation. Remember he is contracted.
Sydney did accommodate Jolly's demands to return to Melbourne but was also throwing money at him when his wife decided that he had to move to Sydney. John Longmire also moved steathily to furnish the Nick Davis move from Collingwood to the Swans. They screwed us on that deal.

Well if we pulled out of the comp. tomorrow there would be a lot less money to be shared around. The crowds have hardly flocked to the finals. Teams like Norf and the Bullies get propped up by the likes of us. Let's not forget the Swans only exist today because the Melbourne clubs were happy to bankroll them out of insolvency some time ago. We have survived without retention allowances and COLAs.

ROFL....Rocca, Teasdale, D Young, Morwood...the list of bloods players taken by the Pies over the years goes on ...yes we got our own back with Williams and Davis...the latter still works there and willo still has great connections there
Jolls came to Sydney because he could not get a game at the Dees as they had Jeff White at that time...
The pies knobbishness goes on and on

Rioli has made the cut which may be a bold call. Seglar and Simpkin are out with McEvoy coming in. No change for the Swans.

I've got them by twenty, but with Cyril having much less time and not at all if Clarkson has a brain.

If Swans win it would surely be Goodes' last game too...
