it wasn't so farcical when we all thought you were going to win easily
i never predicted we would win. That result was always on the cards.

I thought the Tassie bowling lineup was quite weak on paper, esp going in with 2 spinners

No Faulkner, no Hilf. Apart from Rainbird (on the up) and Doherty; largely unknown.
I gather a couple of dropped catches early on in the Billy reply may not have helped Tassie's cause.

so only a handful of games and the domestic one dayers are done and dusted for another season. CA has really snuffed out the interest in this comp.

Just been up at Mosman Oval where there is a first grade T20 double header. Mosman team has Jason Krejza and Bing. Had a bit of a chat to Krazier on the boundary.
Sydney Sixers are hosting a training session on the field for kids in between the games.
Good day all round.

Tassies biggest problem throughout the whole comp was that they hav'nt got a captain that can call right at the toss.

So the Banjos to play the Spivs for the right to meet the over-achieving Sandies in the Final.

Clown cricket really requires a different breed these days, judging from this squad. I'll leave the obvious line to somebody else.

Was'nt aware this game was being played. Tas bowl NSW out for 172 with 3 balls to spare. Carters & Cummins both got 38. Fekete 3 wickets. Two each to D'oh & Kingston.
Re: Australian Domestic Season 2014/15
Tassie romp it in but just miss the double bonus point they needed.
Re: Australian Domestic Season 2014/15
They've done OK overall without Hilfy and Faulkner.
It's good to see Paine back in the runs but I think he's missed the boat nationally now.

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2014/15
Life membership of MGCC for Fleas
Simon Katich has seen a lot of the cricketing world, but there is one place he will always call home and he will this weekend receive its highest honour and join an illustrious group of names.
Katich has represented his state – and that "other” state – he has proudly played for his country at the highest level and has stood on the county pitches of the UK, before blasting away with the Perth Scorchers through Australia, South Africa and India in KFC Big Bash League and Champions League campaigns.
However, it is the Midland-Guildford District Cricket Club that Katich holds above all else in the role it played in his career and the 39-year-old will on Saturday become the club’s newest Life Member at a special presentation, joining names such as Keith Slater, Kevin Gartrell, Tom Moody and Jo Angel.
"It’s a huge honour,” Katich said, who now lives in New South Wales, where he works with AFL club Greater Western Sydney.
"I started at the club when I was nine-years-old in the under-13s and, when I left to go to Sydney in 2002, I was 26, about to turn 27.
"I have to say it’s top of the tree (in my career), because that’s where I started and that’s where I got the opportunity to play First Grade cricket, which then led to me being lucky enough to get picked for WA.
"It’s top of the list, for me, and that’s no disrespect to anywhere else, but some of my fondest memories in cricket are from when I was 16, 17 sitting in the sheds after play, talking about the day’s play.
"I look back now and think how blessed I was to have played at such a great club and to have learnt from all those great people.
"That’s not just the players, but everyone involved there.”
Katich’s elevation to Life Member is set to be an occasion embraced by the entire Midland-Guildford club, with about 250 people expected, including its junior boys and girls and senior representatives. More information can be found here.
WACA CEO Ms Christina Matthews will speak on behalf of the State Association, while Test cricketer Jo Angel will be a special guest speaker.
Katich’s sentiment of being "blessed” to be involved with Midland-Guildford was one shared by club president Peter Volk, who said the function was also a celebration of the entire Katich family, with Simon’s father Vince and mother Kerry having dedicated much of their time to the club over the years.
"Simon’s Life Membership is recognition of his career, not just his Australian and West Australian level, but also his input at Midland-Guildford as well,” Volk said.
"He’s always put into the club, whenever he’s been available and whenever he’s in town, he always comes down to train our juniors and talk to our seniors and he’s even played for us.
"He’s a guy who’s always put the club first and we’re honoured to have a bloke like that to have played for us.
"When players of his stature make the effort to come to the Slater-Gartrell Medal, it helps the morale of the playing group.
"It inspires the next generation and we’re blessed to have players like Simon Katich, Tom Moody, Brendon Julian, Jo Angel.
"It will be a very special night for the club and he’s a very special person, not just as a player, but he’s a tremendous bloke as well.”
Katich began his career with the Midland-Guildford Cricket Club, playing his maiden season of First Grade as a 16-year-old in 1992-93 and went on to play 56 Tests and 45 One Day Internationals with Australia.
He played 29 matches for the Perth Scorchers - including all three BIG Finals – and last season captained the club to its maiden championship.
Katich was a pivotal member of the back-to-back Sheffield Shield winning WA sides of 1997-98 and 1998-99, making 115 runs in the latter final against Queensland, which put the Bulls to the sword and helped the travelling Warriors win by an innings and 31 runs.
New South Wales later benefited from the brilliance of Katich, who captained the Blues to the 2007-08 Sheffield Shield.
It was a career that never blinded the loyal Katich to his roots and, even through the 2013-14 Big Bash, he was a regular fixture back at his club.
"It was something I was really keen to do during the Big Bash,” Katich said.
"That was a big philosophy of Justin’s (Scorchers coach Justin Langer), but it was also what I’d been raised on when I first started playing for WA and, whenever we got the chance, we would get back to our club.
"Tom Moody was a big influence in that way and he always came back and played, along with Joey, Brendon (Julian), Tim Zoehrer and those sorts of guys.
"That was an important part of my career and I’ve always enjoyed coming back to play club cricket with my mates and it was really special to get back out there when I was back.”

LOL. They've actually gone and done it. Didn't they see his Lancashire comeback? Struggling to break 80mph and batting like a #9. I hope they haven't agreed to pay him too much.
