He batted aggressively when Tozzie were a chance of making the runs and then was able to bat for the draw when they lost too many wickets
I hope a few of our "Test" batsmen could learn to do this

this draw was a great effort by the Tozzies but a complete indictment of the gnome...the wobblies batted in their 2nd dig with extreme negativity - thus delaying the declaration...that is the way on=f the BNLG

yep ..got it in one embee.. happy to see you agree about the bnlg's "tactics"...the wobblies shd have easily won this...no disrespect to rainman or fork, but the bnlg set them up for their heroics

On a more positive note, the WA pace production line seems to be back in business, with young Paris and Mackin both looking very promising additions to NCN and Behrendorff. Hogan has been a very very good servant to WA, but perhaps retirement to the easier English game, where he has had more success, beckons more strongly.

I've umpired Mackin
He's actually from just up the road (about 20km's) and I played against his dad
He seems quite good
NCN was injury prone at Paris' age ...and is a bit more hardy now
Paris is Duffield's cousin ...who is also injured atm the moment ...

Sounds as though that family needs some advice regarding future matings. At the moment they getting the ability but are too fragile.

Duff the docker is relatively injury free (no pun intended)
Duff the cricketer may be an overeating problem
Paris the cricketer may be an undereating problem

Jackson Bird could make his long awaited comeback against Qld after taking seven wickets in a recent Futures league game.
Re: Australian Domestic Season 2014/15
It's good news - there seem to be multiple bowlers with experience pressing for national selection (if they can avoid injury).

So has everyone heard about the schemozzle going on in Sydney grade cricket surrounding Clarke's possible comeback next week?

Re: Australian Domestic Season 2014/15
What are Wests/Pup up to?
"Extraordinary lengths taken by Michael Clarke's grade club to ensure the injured Australian captain can bat next weekend, if he is fit enough to do so, will be investigated by Cricket New South Wales.
In a bizarre set of circumstances at Old Kings Oval, Western Suburbs were sent in to bat and declared their first innings closed at 0 for 17, before their opponents Paramatta responded by also closing early at 2 for 140.
Western Suburbs then reached 1 for 230 in their second innings by the close, meaning Clarke will be able to bat for the club next weekend should his hamstring respond to treatment swiftly enough to allow him to maintain a desperate bid for inclusion in the first Test team to play India in Brisbane."
--------------------------------
Meh, Wests looking at the greater good. I presume Pup and Boof were involved?
" "While Cricket NSW and the Sydney Cricket Association are conscious of the broader interests of Australian cricket and hence appreciate the thinking behind this gesture, we are also conscious of the need to maintain the integrity of the Sydney grade competition."
FMD, bureaucrats. They know exactly what has happened. Wests and Parra have made it obvious, yet these clowns still want to investigate. The two clubs should be lauded for attempting to look after Aus cricket.
