Well he was the leading wicket-taker in the Sheffield Shield season before the final, so I would have thought he was the leading contender for the second spinner's spot even before this performance.

Probably W, but as I said in the Ashes thread, he's slipped under my radar. I thought only one spinner would be chosen, which would obviously be Elmer.

Can't see them taking 3 spinners and SOK had a good season too, let alone Agar.

I reckon you can think about the champagne, Nath. Buck loves a road and won't give the Sandies a sniff, and Tonic has been in good nick. A Stinky 700 in the offing here.

This wicket was custom made for Fawad. Dry & slow. I doubt if he will find anything like it in the Windies or England but i suppose he must now be in consideration.

Have you watched any cricket played in the Windies these last five years? Apart from Barbados, pretty much every pitch these days is dry and slow.
And has has been pointed out- He was the leading wicket taker in the Shield this season BEFORE this game started.

Vics well on the way. 0/135 at stumps. Pretty good crowd of a few hundred when i dropped in this morning.

Geez I'd love to be able to just "drop in" to the SCG to watch a game. Then again, I'd be up for a small motza in SCG fees plus I'd have to live in Paddo.

Perhaps it's time to move to Hobart. Sell your pad in the north of Sydney and buy a veritable palace in Bellerive, 100 yards from the ground. You'd have enough cash left over for a shack on the East Coast.

Aye, you know only too well it wouldn't take too much arm-twisting for me to do just that!! I'm hopefully unloading the youngest sprog in the next month or so, then I can start working on the eldest to think about moving out. As always with modern kiddies, it's too cheap to live at home with Dad rather than go out in the world and fend for themselves.
Anywho, you never know. If I become an empty-nester then it could easily be Tasmania Ho!! I reckon I could handle sauntering down to Bellerive and having a lazy beer with Mr Dog on a regular basis.

Rain forcast for today. That should make Nath happy.
Re: ***Shield Final 2014-15 - Stinky Vics v Sandy Vags, 21-25 March, 2015***
a very close game...the wallies have the advantage of runs on the board...
Fawad should go the Windies...the pitches are low and slow. Lyon relies on bounce and will be a liability. he should be kept for Pomgolia
