I'd laugh if things suddenly started getting through the Senate (despite the Pink Qunts opposing) due to the Greens not having a hateful qunt in charge.

The ALP will be happy. They will inevitably agree with the policy but if the Blues and Greens get together to vote for it, they can oppose it so still look like good guys.

Scott Morrison on Joe Hockey today:

"He's our Greg Bird. I'll be the prop, forward talking [the budget] up, and he can be the one who will score the try and that's what he'll be doing on budget day," Mr Morrison said.

For those not familiar with Greg Bird, he is currently serving an 8 week suspension for this tackle:

Use the money to pay out the banks and then pay them to manage the land. People need farmers.

Leigh Sales to Hockey after the Budget tonight:

You have back flipped on numerous plans and dropped talk of a debt and deficit emergency and you have relied on excuses from which you had a go at Wayne Swan. Do you think that the voters are confused about what your government stands for and about your competence?

It seems that Barnaby Joyce has failed his audition for a gig in the next episode of the Pirates of the Caribbean.
