Re: Right, it's like this (Game of Thrones) II
First episode is scheduled to start right when the local Anzac Day parade is due to start. Just as well its being repeated.

- Spoiler:
- Well not much happened. Jon Snow is still dead. Arya is still blind. The Brienne scene was telegraphed. The Dorne storyline moved on more in one episode than the whole of last season. Basically a setting up episode.

Just a theory, but I reckon Jon will rise after they burn his body, then become Lord Commander (making him the 1000th Lord Commander).

S06E01
- Spoiler:
- So...
- Davos and a handful of faithfuls stand by Jon Snow's rule and dead body, and defy Ser Alliser.
- In Dorne, Ellaria murders Doran and Tristane.
- Sansa and Theon escape, with the help of Brienne and Pod.
- Cersei plots her revenge.
- Daeny is a captive of the Dothraki, who respect her as Khal Drogo's ex-wife, but say she must go and live with the widows of dead Dothraki leaders.
- we learn that Melisandre is actually a very old bag witch, kept young looking by, apparently*, a magical necklace.

Re: Right, it's like this (Game of Thrones) II
I really thought Danny was going to get raped in at least a couple of her holes, glad they only described the potential rape and didn't have a full on rape.
The rape has become so overblown now that it's almost comical, the dude who got f*cked up proper by Arya was so OTT that I just rolled my eyes, I guess it was done to make us go "yeee haw!" when Arya is stabbing his eyes up but it just felt silly.
Still, despite it's problems (sand snakes are essentially cartoon characters) it's good to have it back (the show that is, not a bit of rape).
Main problem now is the same one that the books have in that there is too much going on and really the episodes need to be twice as long in order to cram enough in there for it to progress each story along. It's not helped by some stories being much more interesting than others, another problem borrowed from the books where I shit you not there would be occasions where you'd have to read nearly 100 pages until you got to a bit that you were truly invested in and cared about.
Still love it though despite it's problems and can't wait for Monday! Half tempted to pull an all nighter and watch it as it's shown live on Sky the same time it is in America I believe (or at least the premier was).

S06E02. Choice.

- In Meereen, Tyrion releases Daeny's captive dragons.
- Ramsay continues to match Joffrey in the qunt stakes by murdering Lord Bolton and feeding his wife and Lord Bolton's new son to the dogs.
- In the Iron Islands, Balon Greyjoy is murdered by his little brother.
- Melisandre resurrects Jon Snow.

- Spoiler:
- Hopefully, Ramsay's foolishness is punished going forwards - not because I hate him but because he is making increasingly weak strategic decisions. He has killed the man around which the North united. He has killed one of Walder Frey's brood and her son, which will presumably attract his ire. Remember what he thought of his honour when Robb Stark offended it? I know what people are going to say, Ramsay will write it off as both of them dying in child-birth. But that's one hell of a day, surely? Roose Bolton poisoned, and his woman and heir going with him? Nobody will believe that story, especially if Ramsay tells it.
Otherwise, a good episode in which stuff happened, unlike the first episode. It's good for me now because we're past the book stages, and while some of the writing is haphazard, bordering on outright rubbish, there's plenty of good in there still. Lots of theories from the books look more likely after this most recent episode. It's nice to see Jon Snow is back because nobody thought that would happen. It will be interesting to see if he comes back wholly himself. Beric Dondarrion came back less whole each time, by his own admission.

Re: Right, it's like this (Game of Thrones) II
Some classic lines last night:
Tyrion: Dragons love their friends but destroy their enemies. I am their friend.
Varys: Do they know that?
And then later after unchaining the dragons by hand:
Tyrion: Next time I have an idea like that, punch me in the face.
