Re: Australia v New Zealand, 1st Test, Brisbane, 5-9 November, 2015
SO apparently Channel Nine is about to start streaming all of its channels live over the internet. I assume that won't include live sport such as the cricket?

It may be they just have to play different cricket for a different time of the day. I don't know, something like creative declarations (not used enough today) if you know the ball affects play differently at different times regardless of pitch or weather factors.
I normally go to the Adelaide test every year, but might take a looksie at the Shield to see if it's worth it.

I tipped a few months back that a captain like McCullum may well order his team to bat at five an over for 50 overs, and then declare when the sun sets and have a crack at the opposition under lights.

Yeah at this level no-one's ever had to bat defensively under lights. The pschology could be interesting too. Maybe the white kit will be enough to keep the player in a five day attitude.

Aye, nothing wrong with adopting tactics to suit the conditions.
If fit, I predict Warner will go OK. He never watches the red ball anyway, so the pink won't make any difference to him.

Apparently Nein will broadcast its primary channel in HD starting with the third test against the Kiwi's.

Aye Nath. I'm sick of Nein pandering to the fogies and putting movies from 1955 on their HD channel, instead of the sport. It's completely farked up the arse.

That's what a paying pessimist says.
One buttock is better than none, an optimist might counter. Just as long as you get the hole thrown in, preferably gratis.

Hasn't the entire country now switched off analogue? And every TV sold in the last 10 years is HD capable. Australia's TV rules and regulations are way out of date with the technology available.

Haven't got a clue what you're all talking about it, but while we're at it, the ABC must have a decent back catalogue of sports. They can start showing those on one of the kid's channels. Why the fark do they need two farking kid's channels? And they may as well give away one the news channel if they're just going to double up what's on the main channel. And why the fark do they need two farking studios to produce essentially the same content with double the producers, researchers, cameramen, assorted other leeches et al. Shut down one or the other, don't care which, one mexican shithole is the same as another. Actually produce all the national news content that matters out of Canberra, that'd drastically reduce the farking featherbedding of those taxpayer's teats of Ultimo and WTF suburb of Melbourne they put the futons and beanbags in.
They'd get the fascists off their back, could actually follow that part of their charter that matters and give them breathing space to keep skewing the message well left of centre.

I was actually going to agree with Henry about Marcus Stoinis being a chance for the batting allrounder spot but wisely I didn't comment. The poor bugger got trevved out first ball.

Ridiculous.... Finch & Carters are not that good. I smell a cunning plan.

Southee went off ill.
Meanwhile Clarke keeps heavily endorsing Shaun Marsh as the opener for Brisbane to partner Warner.

It's a cop out, but I think it will go down to the conditions. I reckon it's got to have an impact, even in Australia. Overall, you'd back Australia at home - but these wily Kiwis....
