Shame it wasn't the Texas Open - that reading probably isn't over the limit there.

How good is Khongwatmai. He's only 17, been strong at the Asian Tour, qualified for the Open by finishing second at the Singapore Open, and at the sharp end again so far at the Maybank Championship.

Enjoying this Perth super 6 format. TFF Keith Pelley making it a European Tour event.
Golf needs some more matchplay/medalplay and shorter events. Khongwatmai in the semi final already.

Although, another playoff hole (or even a longer one) would be handy as the pace is more than a bit slow in the playoffs.

Enjoyed watching the last hour or so of the Oz Women's Open.
Really enjoy the course management the women display and have long learned more from watching them than some bloke knocking it 280m off the tea.

Re: The Golf Thread (III)
Would think the same for every sport, tbh. Simply because women don't have the power, while not lacking the technique. And that's also a problem with the courses. Valderrama being an example of a tough but short course.
Still, 72 hole strokeplay tournaments every week and same for the Majors makes it quite dull. That's regardless of gender.

Khongwatmai has become the third youngest player to be in the top 150 in the world rankings. Nice kid too.
Meanwhile Dustin Johnson's deservedly become number one.

Re: The Golf Thread (III)
I am not a golfer, but would a spectator hear a "fore" shout 250m down the fairway, over the din of idiotic seppo's screaming get in the hole?

Re: The Golf Thread (III)
The is still a second or two after "get in the hole' when fore can be heard. Not to mention that in non major championships, those sort of shouts are less frequent.

Re: The Golf Thread (III)
Agreed. Having been hit twice when golfers did not call out, I really get cranky when balls go whizzing through without a warning. I now pick up their ball and hit it into the scrub/lake/whatever is handy.
