Trev, it's not just Tozzie bias re Doolan ... until his last Shield match he had been in good touch this year, after a shocker last year. He has made scores (reverse order) of 2, 8, 21, 2, 79, 93, 87*, 67, 23*, and 13* since the start of the year, that's 395 runs at an average of 56.43.
202* doesn't hurt his chances

Why would you have a Wank at #5?
Handscomb? or who's that?

I think the pronunciation of his name "Hands cum" says it all, Pete.

The top 6 from the Hobart debacle franked that form in the the Shield.
gcs fail
Monty fail
UK ton
Sniffy2 fail
Vague ret Vague
Ferg fail
According to one scribe, they were sullen about being sent back to the Shield. UK aside, they all failed. Attitude?

I do wonder if international cricketers in, general, get used to being in the bubble of their national side and develop a sense of entitlement.

Ferg wasn't a Test cricketer at all 10 days ago so if he's developed a 'tude in that time on the basis of 1 and 3 he should be in the Guinness Book of Records. Smith these days is 'sullen' as a default, and with good reason (if he doesn't crack a grin soon he may even find himself lumbered with 'Sullen Steve'), Burns and Voges would (I'm guessing) be trying their best to keep their Test spots if Shield cricket is so far beneath them....and Quodge (the one with previous 'bad attitude' form) is the one that did OK. Which leaves Dave Warner who is not a typical fair sample of anything except Dave Warners.
Suggest said scribe may be drawing a bow the length of the Hume Highway....or just talking thru his/her/its clacker.

Handy double ton, so he's in, but Sunday's team will perhaps be the most eagerly waited for some time. Could be a seminal moment.

Hope they wait for the finish of the Tozzie-wasp match.
Wonder if KP2 did enough to get his baggy green. I note Zimmy is making runs. Is there a last IG bequest for his selection?
Filth Healy is arguing for only one change. h for vague. Made a big defence of Nifty. Shades of his angst at being replaced by Gilly.

I note Stain and Rabada have tried to blame Oz sour grapes. Typical gross saffies. Boof has supported Amla' ridiculous comments. Hanfaf is in the Cronje cheating tradition.
Ridiculous as they could have used a tennis ball and achieved the same devastating result.. Dumb yarpie.

Interestingly, some cricketers have noted they always used something but aren't dumb enough to get caught. Faf must have known he was on camera.
After all, we're in Orwell's post-1984 world.
Evidently, lollies affect the Duke more dramatically than the Kookaburra, so maybe he was wasting his time. Looks like he might get two matches.

Serial offender. He deserves it.

The CA website is running a story with 5 (or 6) changes to the Test team
I dont think it wise they should run this story (no matter how true it is)
Possible Australia squad: Steve Smith (c), David Warner, Matthew Renshaw, Usman Khawaja, Peter Handscomb, Kurtis Patterson, Matthew Wade (wk), Mitchell Starc, Stephen O'Keefe, Josh Hazlewood, Jackson Bird, Nathan Lyon, Chris Tremain.
If the selectors wish to retain any of Monty Henk Ferg Nifty or Doucheland then it doesnt say much when CA is pushing for them to be dropped
If the selectors DO make 5 changes then they all need to resign

Burns, Vague and Lyon are completely out of form. They have no case to stay.
Ferg and Meh have had just one test and it would be tough to drop them.
Nifty is limited. He will be flicked sooner or later.

Tremain has stuck his hand up at the right time.
O'Keefe is useless, couldn't bowl a hoop downhill. Should not be selected ahead of Lyon or the proverbial drover's dog. Lyon does have 200 + test wickets, mostly under a better captain, and with fieldsmen who could take skiers at mid-on and keepers who made stumpings. With his banked credit I'd still choose him over No Teef.
Bird was unlucky to be omitted in Perth Hobart but will be lucky to be reselected for Adelaide over Tremain. I hope he is.
If Patterson is chosen over Doolan, what was the point of observing this round for 'form'? Are double hundreds only counted if you're a Dubber or a Vomit?
Agree with the comments re CA and leaks.

I still find Sniffy' comments post match to be appalling. To bag his players as he did, was dire. The point is that some may not be good enough, not that they are not trying or don't have pride in the baggy green.
I think Sniffy's failure to take any personal responsibility is remarkable. Let's look at his captaincy. Does he have the ability to bring people together?
Does he extend the generosity to newbies, as was extended to him when he was selected as a specialist fieldsman?
To me he looks the worst Oz captain in my lifetime. He combines Ksnr's selfishness, surliness that would make AB wince and Hughes lack of acumen.
