Ashes 2017-2018 countdown
This battle is now less than a year away.
Not finalised yet, but provisionally:
First Test: November 23-27, Brisbane
Second Test: December 2-6, Adelaide (may be a day-night fixture)
Third Test: December 14-18, Perth
Fourth Test: December 26-30, Melbourne
Fifth Test: January 4-8, 2018, Sydney
I will be in a box at the Gabba on day 1, will definitely attend some of the MCG match, and may even get to Perth.
My GAF-meter is officially disturbed from baseline imperceptible oscillations.

Re: Ashes 2017-2018 countdown
Yeah, the nooz said this morning that England had agreed to a pink ball D/N Test. Linky confirms...
"England have agreed to take on Australia in the first day-night Ashes Test next summer, with Cricket Australia soon to announce a 2017-18 home Test schedule that is set to again begin at the Gabba after this year's ill-fated switch to Perth.
The international schedule for next season is being finalised but the provisional itinerary has Brisbane resuming as the host of the opening match of the Ashes series in the last week of November, before the teams head to Adelaide and then in mid-December to the WACA, which is likely to stage the Perth Test with the new 60,000-capacity stadium having been timed to open its gates for the 2018 AFL season."
-------------------------------
Bring it on!!! One would assume the D/N Test would be in Adelaide again.

Re: Ashes 2017-2018 countdown
They are hoping that work commitments will stop you attending and starting sledging chants in the Members???
Does seem odd though, 4th is a Sunday. Does CA kowtow to the needs of Saturday cricket comps by not starting on the Saturday?

It does indeed. A week or thereabouts between tests, three shield matches as a lead up, no one day trash to queer the form and not enough time to really GAF about the BBL trash.
