Well that will disappoint the 3000 locals who turned up for the Test this year
Actually there were 17000 over the two & half days. We should have got at least an ODI. The last time Aust played Eng at Bellerive in an ODI it set a ground record.
Re: Ashes 2017-2018 countdown
Phurt - me and my mates were 10 of those 17000. And school kids who get in for free don't count.

Re: Ashes 2017-2018 countdown
Still a long shot in my view, but it’s increasingly likely the WACA has already hosted it’s last Ashes Test.
WACA confident Ashes test will be played at new Perth Stadium
An Ashes test, opening of an new stadium, we should see sell-outs for the first 3 days...
Weather permitting, we should see new records for day/match attendances in an Ashes Test outside the MCG…

Zimmy, what is the capacity at the new stadium? 5000 or 6000?

Actually the rumour that the WACa was hosting it's last test was the deciding factor in me going.
It's almost a national disgrace losing an iconic test ground.

Yep, only the 'big' games are going to be moved. There was a story in the tissues a few weeks back...

Why do you think I get work there. "Our current system sucks. With what successive federal governments have done to regional and remote Australia I wouldn't blame people for looking at secession." When I'm talking outside of Perth I let the hick accent kick in.

I'd move to Melbourne if WA seceded. Leave it to the miners and carpetbaggers.

Ironically it was the worry about losing all the revenue from Kalgoorlie/Boulder that helped scuttle the original plans to secede.embee wrote:Invader Zim wrote:I'd move to Melbourne if WA seceded. Leave it to the miners and carpetbaggers.
