Good. He will play his 300th game first game next season (as will JT). He should also get to 30 SOOs and if he has a good season, be only the second person to 200 tries.

Andrew Fifita pulls out of the Aust WC squad so he can play for Tonga.
That probably means the end of his SOO career as well.

Re: Rugby League 2017
Fatty gets the arse
"NRL television stalwart Paul ‘Fatty’ Vautin is being punted from Channel Nine’s Footy Show after 23 years and 11 Logies.
The longest-serving host on Australian television will be restricted to commentary box duties at live NRL games in 2018 with the network to groom glamorous star Erin Molan as his replacement.
The Daily Telegraph can reveal The Footy Show will be expanded next year to broadcast in a new timeslot on Monday night, then Thursday night and Sunday lunchtime.
The move to replace 58-year-old Vautin and promote Molan is a tactical manoeuvre by the network to win back female fans who have deserted the Footy Show and switched to Fox Sports where Yvonne Sampson heads up an impressive line-up of women presenters."

Not surprised. Fatty was a bumbling clod all season, with Erin propping him up deluxe.

With what they could now afford to pay you'd be better off on the dole.

Pity Nein did not show the door to the appalling Newman. The AFL FS did poorly in the ratings, even with Eddihead back at the helm.

So, it looks like Cronk will sign up for a year with the R00ters to help pay for his new Eastern Suburbs mansion.

The Manly match-fixing investigation has turned up nothing concrete. The Filth are breathing a sigh of relief.
Meanwhile, Mitchell Pearce has the shits at the R00ters regarding the impending signing of Cooper Cronk.

Sage.
Apparently*, while the Police investigation didn't get any hard evidence on match-fixing, it did uncover a shitload of connections to the underworld via favours being called in against dumb footballers with big gambling debts.

Yeah. Match fixing or not, it's a worrying story.

Re: Rugby League 2017
The cops say that some players have debts bigger than their contract value. FMD, what a bunch of dumb slabs footy players can be.
Meanwhile, Aus took until the last 5 minutes of their WC opener to put England away. It was 10-4 (the HT score) until a penalty goal then converted try in the final 7 mins sealed the Aus win. Slater was immense in the first half.

Re: Rugby League 2017
The Brayne Drayne wants to quit Titans
"JARRYD Hayne reportedly wants to quit the Gold Coast Titans and explore his options in Sydney in order to be closer to his family.
Currently participating in the Rugby League World Cup with Fiji, Hayne is said to be considering all possibilities, including rugby union. He wants to be closer to his young daughter, who Channel Nine reporter Danny Weidler says is based on the NSW Central Coast.
Channel Seven rugby league reporter Josh Massoud said Hayne’s former side Parramatta is the raging favourite to secure his services should he walk out on the Titans.
If Hayne was to leave, his departure would be slap in the face to previous Gold Coast coach Neil Henry. Henry was punted after the club effectively chose its star fullback over him following a highly publicised relationship breakdown between the pair this year."
----------------------------------------------
Wotaqunt. Exercised his one year extension option, had Henry sacked, now wants out. Overrated showpony.

I bet New Zealanders are angry (re the defectors) after Tonga defeated them today.
I'm just annoyed that I didn't watch the game live.
