Great result for Pakistan in the only game that mattered.

Re: Champions Trophy 2017
The mildly amusing part in all this, iirc, is that Pakistan wouldn't have even qualified if not for a hurriedly arranged Odi series against Zimbabwe, which they won to edge past the West Indies.
Bloody Zimbabwe. The fact that Pakistan qualified by gaming the rankings clearly means that India are the moral winners of the tournament.

So India lost to the team that should have come 9th?
They're the Richmond of the CT!

Proof
But then again, don't Richmond always finish ninth for some godforsaken reason like eclipses interrupting matches rather than losing to ninth?

Re: Champions Trophy 2017
LOL at Jadeja running out Pandya as the Bannies mounted a decent recovery. Pandya was on fire and justifiably livid at the moustached one.
Exceptional start with the ball by Amir and rounded off with Hasan Ali's continued good form.
Top notch stuff by the Wackies.
Does this make Mickey Arthur a super coach??!!!

The Tigers managed to lose a final to the 9th team in an 8 team finals system
Cheats were involved in that scenario too

Re: Champions Trophy 2017
Well I'm flabbergasted.
It just goes to show that all the preparation and planning in the world means nothing if a talented team rocks up and has a couple of good days. It makes all of England's excessive ODI planning look very silly.
Pakistan as a team just have something in their cricketing psyche that allows them to turn up and perform when it matters. Not always, of course. But more often than say South Africa or England, who have a tendency to freeze when it really counts.

Well that meme didn't take long; obviously I wasn't the only one immediately struck by the similarity and irony.
I'm sure I speak for many Australians when I say

Re: Champions Trophy 2017
Isolation clearly has helped pakistani cricket to overcome odds and attain top form. I reckon they continue isolation to maintain this high level.

mm if #1 england suddenly forgets batting, lankans drop all their catches. then pakistan psyche suddenly begins to perform. Not always, but when these prerequisites are met. I wager this is perhaps the least competent pakistani team ever to set foot on a field. Champions trophy or no trophy.
but no complaints, crickets always been like this. Azhar, Jadeja, Nayan Mongia flourished without any jail time as well. Sometimes one ends up on wrong side of ICC & partner-in-crime abdul the bookie. Tough luck !

“Ppl should throw eggs n tomatoes on players at the airport, when they return from london coz they are real Deshdrohi (traitors), who sold themselves.”
Oh dear. Perhaps Furri should forget about effigy's & get into the fresh produce market.

afaik bumrah hasn't bowled a single no ball in his entire IPL spell.
Unless you mean "genuinely happening", I suppose you mean "not fixed"?
Not sure India has had anyone fingered since Azha, have they? Never 100% impossible obviously, but surely it's a lot more complicated to "engineer" a shock win than throw a shock defeat? You generally have to draw in 2, 3 or so members of the opposition, it seems.
(Unless you mean the Pakistan team were actually by some distance the best team from the start - and only feigned creeping into the Last 8 and then flunked it the first time vs India to maximise takings?)
Anyway, call me naive, looks kosher to me.
