AS alluded to in the article posted by Red, the players have offered, out of their own pockets, a further $30M for grass roots of Aus cricket. CA has come back and said "get farked" to any reference to revenue sharing in the MOU.

The CA qunts will still not offer any explanation to ACA for this stance.

I reckon the Ashes is seriously under threat.

Do CA not realise that the players hold all the cards. No players, no Ashes or Indian one day tour, no revenue.

The players can make a lucrative living from IPL and other circus cricket. I have images of Peever bending Sutherland over the Board room mahogany and rogering him royally, as he says "In my day as head of Rio Tinto, this is what I did to the Unions".

Aye. Sutherland is responsible for Australia's decline in traditional cricket. He has put the dollar in front of Sheffield Shield, Domestic One Day Comp & Test Cricket. He is a thunderqunt that needs to go.

The Aussie players are continuing to train but won't be paid for training even if they come to an agreement according to Peter Lalor.

The players are asking for a resolution to this crisis before August 17th.

Of course Sutherland was also bean-counter in chief at Carlton when they had their salary cap issues....he learnt bad sports admin at the feet of the Master

sticking point now is $AUD60 million in additional revenue which accumulated in a subsidiary ledger to which the players believe they are entitled. I couldn't understand why Shane Watson, now retired, was involved in the negotiations but it turns out he, for example, would collect another $AUD1.8 million from the $60 million which would be handy superannuation. The players are now starting to lose the public who think they are just being too greedy now. Most domestic players want to settle and move on but the highly paid internationals are holding out.

"Current and recently retired male players are still owed $58.5m from additional revenue owed from the last pay deal. That sum will bring to $101m the total shelled out to international and domestic male players above $287m of payments guaranteed under the previous MOU.

CA believes some of this money would be better spent rewarding top women cricketers — who were excluded from the previous MOU by the ACA — and diverting more funds into community cricket.

The ACA considers it “non-negotiable’’ that the men receive the entire amount."
