Wonder if there should be OH&S applied when the temperature becomes dangerous, especially to people who aren't accustomed to such conditions.

under way
I noticed this bit of commentary in the Cricinfo comments late yesterday:
>>>
"Apart from the runout at the Gabba, all the English wickets have fallen to a New South Wales bowler. Is that a first for Australia?" ... and Lyon got the run out of Vince at Brisbane
<<<

As if things weren't bad enough for England. The good news is that he's back at the ground from hospital and apparently* will bat. Well done Rooty.

Elmer gets Mo for the 7th time in the series, equalling the record for bowler v 1 batsman.
5-120.

So England’s ashes farce begins with Stokes drinking too much, and finishes with Root not drinking enough!

That would be an extraordinary level of over-representation for a State with a population of only 500K compared with NSW's 7.5 million. Realistically you should be providing 15 times as many top level reps!

At least Tas has not supplied quality reps like BF, Rorke, Corling, Toohey, Kjnr, Ian Craig, Hilda, Schoolgirl, et al.

That now sounds like it was gastroenteritis, nothing to do with yesterday's heat.

We were responsible for Roger Woolley and Shaun Young, though. It's not all good.
Jamie Cox missed out, and he would have been a very worthy rep.

Wasn’t there frequent exasperated cries from you for Luke Butterwoth to receive national recognition?

Yes there was a year or two when he was bowling extremely well, swinging the ball both ways at good pace, at which time he would have been a good selection. Injuries got him in the end.

Not that it matters but I'm not sure why Crane bothered to review that.
I don't know what to do with those tossed salads and scrambled eggs, they're callin' again, goodnight everybody!

Dello has given a summary of the English performance in the other thread.
Among the Australians, it is hard to point to any genuine weakness in the final line up, with the possible exception of Bancroft but I'd still give him a chance. Everyone else earned their lunch money.
