Well we wouldn't be losing much with the omission of Koaja.

Is Holland playing Babel?
should have been in the squad anyway ...reward for wickets
Agar ...another "potential" pick that eozzies dont comprehend

That's harsh. For his age I think he's a great prospect.

Starc is training with the squad this morning in a bid to improve his fitness for the match.

You only need to replace Seasick with Bruce Francis and you'd have one of our worst ever batting line ups.

Just like the Bog is a great young prospect!
The one argument I can see for Jelly is he is not sokpoc.
If Lardys team is selected with Hollow Man at 5 and Ima at 6 we deserve to lose this Test.

All the talk seems to be that Aus will go with the same squad, except for Koo in, Tweety out.
I hope this is the case. It's Koo, 2nd and Purple's home Test FFS.

Rumour is that Paine will replace Wade in the ODI squad (doesnt look like we have a thread for odi's yet)
Re: Australia v England, 5th Test, Sydney, 4-8 January, 2018
Would rather Jimmy P or Leo play in the snore fest.
Aside from Seasick this has been the least interesting Ashes for years. I am looking forward to this Test tho. Some of the bowling gas been absorbing. Purple has bowled with more aggression than previously and Elmer continues to improve.
Neither of the two teams hold a candle against the better Test teams.

I'm looking forward to the Pink Test ... The McGrath Foundation is hoping to raise 1 million for breast cancer nursing support this year.

Woakes appears to be out, with a side strain.
So, Mo back in by default? Or was he not going to be left out anyway?
It's a bit shambolic, the England squad. I'd have added: ".... at this stage", but (even given necessary omissions - Stokes, R-Jones, Finn...) there were too many elements of a pretty dubious squad selection from the start.

Looks like AA won't get a gig; Lyon will be the only spinner.
Starc might return, or Bird could again be the word.

Re: Australia v England, 5th Test, Sydney, 4-8 January, 2018
Aye, after Smithy's comments at the lunchtime press conference it looks like the Aus side will be as per the 1st 3 Tests.
"LEFT-arm spinner Ashton Agar looms as a surprise omission for the final Ashes Test at the SCG despite being called into the squad, Australian captain Steve Smith has revealed, while Mitchell Starc is firming for a recall.
At his pre-match press conference, Smith revealed that the SCG wicket was carrying more grass than expected, pushing the thinking back towards sticking with Nathan Lyon as the front-line spinner with three pacemen in the Aussie bowling attack.
...
“The wicket’s got a fair bit of grass and looks to be a pretty good wicket. I’d say we’ll probably opt for just the one spinner,” Smith explain in his pre-match press conference on Wednesday.
“Nathan’s done a terrific job throughout this series and I’d say we’ll go down that route.” "

Not even 72 hours into 2018 and already the crayon crowd are trying to tell us when to be surprised....the AA mini-saga was always polyfilla news.

WTF? I thought this game was starting today. Doesn’t it always start on January 3rd? I only realised it wasn’t starting today at 10.20 this morning when I turned on the tv and there was no channel nine commentator shitfest going on.
