From the Somerset Cricket tweet, looks a fair knock. He seemed to play with unaccustomed freedom.

Jacker was an honourable Tory. THese days, he's have been Ken Clarke (despite his cough BAT ties cough), a Dominic Grieve or a Ros Altmann.

The season is young.

Even if Lancs are old.

In Shiv's case, literally.

The SAffie anagram didn't start much better. 3 consecutive ducks before making a 94.

Cartwright's 4-7-0-78-30(HS)-av 11.14 is hardly impressive reading.

Donkey is among the first to thank the cbnlg on his career reaching the heights.

Others among the first to thank cbnlg are Bog, Mere, Qunt-Denial, Bangers, Jelly.

cbnlg was interviewed on Donkey,

"look Hoss is a class player with a minor form blip. I will continue to back in our elite culture players who are the backbone of our State ,.. erm ... Test side."

" Future Oz captain elect, His Mitchness is electing to spend time with Hoss to help him find consistent form and brush up his baggy green cap. That's the sort of bloke His Mitchness is.

"This is about the elite culture I am encouraging." cbnlg said.

Commenting on a short range regional radio station with a crackling reception, elite commentator Slymon Serbo-Chokarian backed cbnlg with his own original penetrating analysis.

God knows how we were leading the Championship going into this match. Our batting is embarrassingly poor, and has been exposed this time around. I guess we were top because the standard is so low. I still reckon we could be one of the 2 to get relegated at the end of the year. I can't see where we're going to score enough runs, and our bowling will be weaker as the pitches get better.

Lucky we’ll soon have a break from proper cricket until the clocks go back then Wink

Taking 20 wickets is the key, as you don’t stay up with draws. But it was obvious Notts needed batting reinforcements, it was weak even without recent (semi-) retirements. What happened to picking off the best of the talent from the other East Midlands counties, or is there just none out there right now? Any more batsmen called Taylor we could sign?

Brendan might be taylor-made?

Talking of E Midlands county talent - what's happened to Ben Duckett??

Talking of disappearing acts - where's Alex Lees?

(Don't ask me about Hameed - or Reese ...)

We had Brendan Taylor the last couple of seasons, he’s gone back to Zim now. Ross is the third of his name to represent Notts in recent times... all different nationalities.

I guess Duckett’s still in the doghouse (duck-house?) for behaving like a twat on tour last winter. On the England situation, who else thought “oh crap” when seeing Vince had made a double?
