Ballance taking a break for personal reasons. Let’s hope it’s not another case of the Trotts.

And Stoneman too. Though 'for family reasons'.
Talk of someone going through the mill. ...
And 'until further notice' (article) looks even more ominous, in at least one way.

Heartening bit of solid batting by the Lancs middle order at the end of the day there ...
Think you've got bottom place reserved, Baz? Think again!

losing 4 wickets for 2 is a good effort ...

Wash your mouth out.
Ballance should not and will not be anywhere near an England XI.
We've had more than enough of his "back and across, howzat, out LBW" style of batting.

You're biased against northerners. GB is just sort of grafter you guys need to add some starch to your top order. I have been a fan since the Lions had a disastrous tour here a few years ago and GB was the only one to perform well.

Merls hasn't bitten into the second baited hook yet .... has he wised up, or just not got round to it?
Funny how some don't get irony - only sarcasm.

And the crap you regurgitate about Brexit is just 'baited sarcasm', I presume!
Unless, of course, your implying irony - but turned on its head!

1) All views above written by myself, original thought, based on continuing assessment of all factors, all things considered - without slogans.
Whereas:
Repeating prefab incantations like "takebackcontrol!" "sovereignty", "freedom/independence", "350millionaweek" "good deals" - not only 100% hollow as supposed assurances, but inverting the truth of the reality proposed by the conjurers .... - there's the "regurgitation" you deplore, Merls
2) You misunderstood the point about "irony" vs "sarcasm".
But thereby (ironically enough!) included yourself in the point made.
A new twist on the old saying: "if the cap fits ....": you seem happy to don the grand cap of sarcasm - and ram it right down over your eyes.
3) I'm glad if your silence on Horace's second wind-up means you've finally cottoned on that he was doing you up like a Kipper ....

Suck it up with "your own original thought ", ol' son.
I've been off this forum for far too long (and have felt all the better for it too) only to come back to the barbs, the slights, the "I know exactly how you think" sh*t and the rabid Remoanerisms uttered by "deep and meaningful thinkers who loathe losing" like yourself!
As for h's wind-up re. GB, good for him, I admit, was done up like a kipper … like I said I'd been away awhile and, not realising the wind-up, expressed my personal opinion about GB … aw shucks!
Only you and your sheep the lardbucket needed to have a jolly jape over the fact.
Bully for you …!
Oh well, back to the welcome radio silence once again.
Ciao.

You're the one flinging the personal attacks, I'm afraid. Re-read the exchanges. Even read your previous post. It's chock full of worked-up personally-directed abuse.
I criticise political manipulations, false propaganda and malice. If you associate with that at a visceral level, Merls, by all means feel personally affronted. But you shouldn't.

On the theme/s of cricket:
I see the Minor Counties are now engaged in a "Unicorns Championship". Sounds quite fanciful. When did that start?

Not really. You'd best write another whining PM to Dello before you flounce again, and do it before the door closes on your arse. My oath the last one was a corker.

Not sure where it comes from, though there was a “Unicorns” team in one of the one-day cups for a while, which I think was made up of minor counties etc. players...Wikipedia wrote:Since 2014, the tournament has been known as the Unicorns Championship.
Are they also playing for the Rocking Horse Shit Cup?

Gold.
fwiw, I am a bit of GB fan. Tho I know most FB Pomgolian comrades don't rate GB all that highly.
Wow, it seems Merls must have hit the gin bottle.
